Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Two doubles in return
Kim (thumb) went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk and an RBI in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Rockies.
Kim missed the last two games with a nagging thumb injury. He was the only Padre to record any extra-base hits in this contest, including his RBI double to open the scoring in the second inning. The shortstop has posted multiple hits in four of his nine games in July, going 9-for-24 (.375). Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Takes seat Tuesday
Marte is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants.
Daulton Varsho will step in as Arizona's designated hitter, the spot Marte has exclusively occupied since returning to action June 21 after a stint on the injured list due to a Grade 1 hamstring strain. Manager Torey Lovullo recently suggested that Marte could soon be ready to play second base, with the Diamondbacks ideally breaking him back into the infield at some point over their final few games before the All-Star break.

Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Riding pine Tuesday
Rodgers is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
Garrett Hampson will get a look at second base while Rodgers heads to the bench for the first time since May 25, ending a streak of 43 consecutive starts. The 25-year-old's horrendous April looks to be a distant memory at this point; in the two-plus months since, he's slashed .290/.337/.472 with eight home runs, 41 RBI and 36 runs in 62 games.

Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Good to go Tuesday
Kim (thumb) is starting at shortstop and batting leadoff Tuesday at Colorado, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Kim has been held out the past few games by a thumb issue, but he'll rejoin the lineup Tuesday and start things off as the leadoff man. He has a .350/.435/.500 slash line with one home run, two RBI and four runs through eight games in July.

Brendan Donovan 2B | SEA
Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Not yet back in action
Donovan (illness) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Donovan looks to be making progress in his recovery from a non-COVID-19-related illness after he rejoined the team Monday, but he'll be out of the starting nine for the fourth game in a row while he works to regain conditioning. The Cardinals will deploy Corey Dickerson and Juan Yepez as their corner outfielders while Donovan is on the bench.

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Not starting Tuesday
Lux is not in the lineup Tuesday versus St. Louis, Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA reports.

Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU
Mets' Luis Guillorme: Pops second homer
Guillorme went 2-for-3 with a walk, a home run and two RBI in Monday's 4-1 win over Atlanta.
His eighth-inning solo shot off Darren O'Day, Guillorme's second homer of the year, gave the Mets a crucial insurance run after Atlanta had made it 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh. The utility infielder is back in the starting lineup at second base while Jeff McNeil is on the paternity list, and Guillorme's taken advantage by rapping out six hits, including two doubles and Monday's home run, in the last three games.

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: May get innings at 2B
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Marte may begin playing second base in a game prior to the All-Star break, Jose M. Romero of the Arizona Republic reports.
Marte has served as the designated hitter the last three weeks since a hamstring injury cropped up in mid-June. Lovullo said he'll try to get Marte an inning or two late in a game before the break but added there's a schedule mapped out to get him back on the field after the All-Star game. The discomfort Marte is feeling is much less than before, but the Diamondbacks remain cautious.

Giants' Thairo Estrada: On bench Monday
Estrada isn't starting Monday's game against the Diamondbacks, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Estrada will get a breather after he went 2-for-5 with a homer, a double, two runs, two RBI and a strikeout Sunday against the Padres. Wilmer Flores is starting at the keystone while David Villar takes over at third base.
