Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Still not starting
Hoerner (general soreness) isn't starting Wednesday's game against Pittsburgh.

Luis Garcia 2B | WAS
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Hit streak ends
Garcia went 0-for-4 with a strikeout Tuesday in the Nationals' 3-1 loss to the Rockies.
Garcia has now been held hitless just twice in his last 11 games, with the 21-year-old infielder slashing .295/.295/.455 to go with a home run, nine RBI and three runs over that stretch. The strong finish to the campaign should put Garcia on the radar as a late-round flier in deeper mixed leagues heading into 2022.

Luis Urias 2B | ATH
Brewers' Luis Urias: Slugs 22nd homer
Urias went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk Tuesday against the Cardinals.
Urias took Adam Wainwright yard in the fourth inning to record his 22nd home run of the season. He has been particularly productive across his last 10 games, going yard twice while driving in eight and scoring four runs. Urias has shown significant progress offensively this season, racking up a career-high 22 home runs while also posting a .340 wOBA and 111 wRC+ across 557 plate appearances.

Josh Rojas 3B | CHW
Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Doubles, knocks in run
Rojas batted leadoff and went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Giants.
Rojas started at shortstop in place of the injured Nick Ahmed, who is done for the season with a shoulder injury. The team called up prospect Geraldo Perdomo after Ahmed was placed on the injured list, but manager Torey Lovullo wanted Rojas back in the lineup after sitting out Sunday. Despite being on a 5-for-30 (.167) run over the last nine contests, Rojas has performed well in his first full season in the majors. The double was his 32nd of the season, ranking him tied for 28th in MLB.

Estrada (hand) will undergo X-rays after he was hit by a pitch in the seventh inning of Tuesday's game versus Arizona, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
Estrada was hit on the hand in his lone plate appearance, although he was able to play the last two innings at second base. The infielder's X-rays are considered precautionary. More information should be available ahead of Wednesday's contest regarding his status going forward.

Giants' Thairo Estrada: Back in big leagues
Estrada was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old will rejoin the Giants for the final week of the regular season with Brandon Belt (thumb) heading to the injured list. Estrada has a .275/.331/.483 slash line in 130 plate appearances this season and will be a utility option in the infield.

Michael Chavis 2B | CIN
Pirates' Michael Chavis: Reinstated from IL
Chavis (elbow) was activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Jake Crouse of MLB.com reports.
As expected, the 26-year-old will rejoin the team for its three-game series against the Cubs. He is not in the lineup Tuesday night, but he will be available off the bench. Taylor Davis was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis and Connor Overton (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day IL Tuesday, opening roster spaces for Chavis and Jacob Stallings (concussion), who was reinstated from the 7-day IL.

Brendan Rodgers 2B | BOS
Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Good to go after Monday's scare
Rodgers (head) is starting at second base Tuesday against the Nationals.
Rodgers cleared concussion protocols after being hit by a pitch on the head and exiting Monday. The infielder appears to be feeling fine a day later, as he's set to man the keystone and bat second against lefty Patrick Corbin.

Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Remains on bench
Hoerner (general soreness) isn't starting Tuesday's game against Pittsburgh.
Hoerner will be out of the lineup for a third consecutive game as he continues to deal with general soreness. Sergio Alcantara will start at shortstop and bat seventh.

Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH
Mets' Jeff McNeil: On bench for first game
McNeil will sit for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Marlins.
McNeil has hit an unimpressive .260/.295/.370 thus far in September. He isn't necessarily sitting for performance reasons, however, as it's standard procedure to sit regulars for one end of a twin bill. Kevin Pillar starts in left field in McNeil's absence.
