Pirates' Adam Frazier: Slugs third homer

Frazier went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored Thursday against the Reds.

Frazier led off the game with a solo home run into the right-field stands, his third long ball of the season. He scored an additional run in the second inning after singling in the midst of a massive rally by the Pirates. Frazier has started the campaign slowly, but now has three multi-hit efforts in his last four starts. His .194/.250/.343 line is still subpar, but Frazier has started to heat up at the dish.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Out again Thursday

Hernandez is not starting Thursday against the Padres.

Hernandez will sit for the third time in four games as Max Muncy slides over to cover second base in his stead Thursday. The utility man is slashing .264/.291/.415 with one home run and 10 runs scored this season.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Day-to-day with bone bruise

McNeil (knee) is day-to-day with a bone bruise in his left knee, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

McNeil had to be carted off the field Thursday after colliding with the outfield wall, but it sounds like he avoided a potentially serious injury after his X-ray and MRI both came back clean. While the outfielder doesn't appear to be a candidate for the injured list, he'll likely miss at least a few games. According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, the belief is that McNeil may be able to play in five days.

    Mets' Jeff McNeil: X-rays negative

An X-ray on McNeil's knee Thursday came back negative, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.

McNeil had to be carted off the field after he crashed into the outfield wall following an impressive catch Thursday against the Nationals. It sounds like he may have escaped with a bad bruise, though the outfielder will undergo an MRI in the coming days to be sure.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Not expected back next week

Braves manager Brian Snitker said Wednesday that he doesn't expect Albies (wrist) to be ready to return from the 10-day injured list next week, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

The Braves will presumably check in with Albies over the weekend to see how he's progressing in his recovery from a right wrist bone contusion, but up to this point, the young infielder has yet to resume baseball activities since being shut down Aug. 5. Johan Camargo has started the past four games at second base and should continue to serve as the primary replacement at the position for the duration of Albies' absence.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Carted off Thursday

McNeil (undisclosed) was carted off the field Thursday against the Nationals, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

McNeil slammed into the outfield wall after he made a spectacular catch at the warning track to end the first inning. He initially tried to walk back to the dugout but was forced to call for the cart after a few steps. Billy Hamilton entered the game in place of McNeil, whose status should be updated after he's further evaluated in the coming days.

  • Amed Rosario SS | NYY

Mets' Amed Rosario: Sitting third straight game

Rosario (illness) remains out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals. "Rosario is our shortstop. We're waiting for him to be ready to go, and he'll be back in there," Mets manager Luis Rojas told Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.

Rosario will wind up missing the final three games of the Mets' four-game series with Washington due to a stomach illness, with Rojas stressing that the 24-year-old is still trying to get fully hydrated. Andres Gimenez, who has recorded two extra-base hits and two steals over his last four starts, will slide over from the keystone to fill in for Rosario at shortstop.

  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Mets' Andres Gimenez: Adds fourth stolen base

Gimenez went 1-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 11-6 win over the Nationals.

While Gimenez didn't cross home plate, he did notch another steal, his fourth in as many attempts with the big club this season. Gimenez was caught 16 times in 44 attempts on the basepaths at Double-A last year. He's also starting to hit a little bit, but Robinson Cano (groin) is facing live pitching at the alternate site and his eventual return figures to push Gimenez to the bench.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Out of Wednesday's lineup

Hernandez is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Padres.

Hernandez will head to the bench for the second time in the past three games despite going 4-for-15 with three doubles and a triple over the past week. Max Muncy will shift to the keystone Wednesday while Edwin Rios takes over at first base.

  • Amed Rosario SS | NYY

Mets' Amed Rosario: Remains on bench

Rosario isn't in the lineup Wednesday against the Nationals, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.

Rosario won't be in the lineup for a second consecutive game as he battles a minor illness. However, he was available off the bench Tuesday, and that could also be the case Wednesday. Andres Gimenez will start at shortstop in Rosario's absence.
