Mets' Amed Rosario: Still out of lineup Wednesday

Rosario (quadriceps) remains out of the lineup Wednesday against the Nationals.

After exiting Monday's game with a quad issue, Rosario underwent an MRI on Tuesday that confirmed that he's dealing with left quadriceps tightness. He appears to have avoided a serious injury as he remains day-to-day, but he'll be sidelined once again Wednesday. Andres Gimenez will take his place at shortstop and bat sixth.

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Sitting out Wednesday

McNeil (back) isn't in the lineup Wednesday against the Nationals.

McNeil received more clarity on his back issue Tuesday when an MRI revealed a low-grade right intercostal strain, but he'll remain out Wednesday. The 28-year-old has been sidelined since Monday but is still considered day-to-day. J.D. Davis will start at third base in McNeil's place, while Billy Hamilton will make his Mets debut in center field, batting ninth.

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Lands on IL

The Braves placed Albies (wrist) on the 10-day injured list Wednesday.

Albies had been tending to a right wrist bone contusion since Friday, but he was cleared to appear as a pinch hitter later that day in a game against the Mets before going on to start three of the team's next four contests. The 23-year-old clearly wasn't right at the dish, however, going 1-for-13 with five strikeouts since the injury first surfaced. The Braves will give Albies some much-needed downtime to heal up from the injury, which will likely pave the way for Adeiny Hechavarria and Johan Camargo to see more reps at the keystone. Albies will first be eligible to return from the IL on Aug. 15.

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Could move to injured list

Manager Brian Snitker said the Braves will discuss the possibility of Albies (wrist) being placed on the injured list, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

It's somewhat of a surprising development, as the 23-year-old started each of the last two games and wasn't removed early Tuesday despite Atlanta entering the ninth inning with a 10-1 lead. Albies has been managing right wrist soreness over the past few days, and he's gone 1-for-9 with four strikeouts during that stretch. Adeiny Hechavarria is likely to work at second base should the young infielder end up on the injured list.

  • Isan Diaz 2B | DET

Marlins' Isan Diaz: Moves to restricted list

The Marlins placed Diaz on the restricted list Friday.

Miami made the roster move after Diaz informed the club of his plans to opt out of the 2020 season due to concerns about the coronavirus pandemic. His placement on the restricted list cleared a spot on the 40-man roster and in the Marlins' 60-man roster pool.

  • Logan Forsythe 2B | LAD

Marlins' Logan Forsythe: Joins big-league roster

Forsythe signed a one-year, major-league deal with the Marlins and is batting sixth as the designated hitter Tuesday against the Orioles, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

The veteran infielder's deal with Miami was initially reported last week, as the team is in dire need of players with over half the roster unavailable following the COVID-19 outbreak among players and staff. Forsythe should see regular playing time until the roster is back up to full strength, and a strong performance early on could earn him a role as a useful bench option.

  • Amed Rosario SS | NYY

Mets' Amed Rosario: Day-to-day with quad tightness

Rosario was diagnosed with left quadriceps tightness after undergoing an MRI on Tuesday and is considered day-to-day, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.

The 24-year-old was removed from Monday's game with the same diagnosis, so it appears he avoided a more serious injury. Rosario is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Nationals, with Andres Gimenez starting at shortstop in his place.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Day-to-day with intercostal strain

McNeil (back) was diagnosed with a low-grade right intercostal strain Tuesday and is considered day-to-day, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.

The 28-year-old was scratched from Monday's lineup with lower-back tightness, and he'll avoid the injured list for now after undergoing an MRI on Tuesday. McNeil and Amed Rosario (quadriceps) are out of the lineup Tuesday against the Nationals, while Robinson Cano (groin) was placed on the injured list.

  • Amed Rosario SS | NYY

Mets' Amed Rosario: Awaiting MRI results

Rosario (quadriceps) underwent an MRI on Tuesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Rosario left Monday's game against Atlanta due to a tight left quad. Whether or not he'll need to miss an extended period will depend upon the results of the MRI. He's not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Washington while awaiting the results.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

    Mets' Jeff McNeil: Undergoes MRI

McNeil (back) underwent an MRI on Tuesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

McNeil was a late scratch Monday due to lower-back tightness. How much more time he's set to miss depends on the results of the MRI.
