Pirates' Adam Frazier: Hits keep coming

Frazier went 3-for-6 with an RBI in Friday's 7-6 loss to the Brewers.

After batting eighth in the lineup for most of June, he's hit leadoff in each of the last four games he has started. Frazier will likely continue to rotate hitting out of the top spot with Kevin Newman, based upon pitching matchups. The second baseman now has 13 hits in his last 21 at-bats, raising his batting average from .254 to .279 since June 30.

Mets' Dilson Herrera: Lands back with Mets

Herrera returned to the Mets on a minor-league contract Friday, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.

Herrera opted out of his contract with the Mets on Tuesday but wound up back in the organization after receiving nothing better than minor-league offers elsewhere. He owns a .258/.355/.566 slash line in 68 games for Triple-A Syracuse this season.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Slugs three-run homer

Albies went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run in a victory over Philadelphia on Thursday.

Albies broke a 4-4 tie with his 416-foot three-run blast to right field in the third inning. The home run was his 14th of the season, half of which have come in his last 22 games. Overall, the talented 22-year-old is slashing .284/.346/.478 in 341 at-bats this season.

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Sits after productive three games

Frazier is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cubs.

While returning to the leadoff spot for the first time since June 9, Frazier was instrumental in helping the Pirates secure wins in the first three games of the series. During those three contests, Frazier went 10-for-14 with a home run, five doubles, six RBI, six runs and a stolen base. Even though Kevin Newman has shined as the Pirates' primary leadoff option for more than a month, manager Clint Hurdle may reconsider his lineup slotting while Frazier sports a red-hot bat.

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Posts another four-hit game

Frazier went 4-for-4 with a three-run home run and three runs in a 5-1 victory against the Cubs on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old is on quite the tear, racking up nine hits while slugging a home run and five doubles in two games against the Cubs this week. That stretch alone has raised his average and OPS 22 and 65 points, respectively. Frazier is batting .276 with four home runs, 24 RBI, 44 runs and two steals in 290 at-bats this season.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Slugs 14th home run

Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a victory over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Hernandez swatted a ball over the left field fence to tie the score in the fourth inning. Though it was his only hit of the game, it was nonetheless a positive start to July after Hernandez hit below the Mendoza Line in each of the last two months. Overall, he is slashing .216/.287/.413 with 14 homers and 43 runs batted in this season.

  • Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU

Mets' Luis Guillorme: Promoted to big leagues

Guillorme was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Guillorme has seen limited action this season in the major leagues (3-for-18 over 12 games), but he'll get another shot with the big club following Tuesday's flurry of roster moves. He figures to serve as infield depth while with the Mets, as he's seen action at second base, third and shortstop in the minors.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Returns to action

Albies (elbow) is starting at second base and batting eighth Tuesday against the Phillies.

Albies missed Sunday's matchup after being struck by a pitch on his left elbow during Saturday's game, but following a day off Monday, he'll return to the starting nine for the series opener. He's batting .267 with two homers, six RBI and a stolen base over his last eight contests.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Hot on rehab assignment

Hoerner (wrist) went 2-for-5 with a pair of singles in a rehab game with the Cubs' rookie-level affiliate Monday.

The 22-year-old has played in four Arizona League games since getting the green light to return to game action, and he has recorded multiple hits in all four. Hoerner, the No. 24 overall pick in last year's draft, landed on the 7-day IL in late April with what was diagnosed initially as a hand bruise. Things didn't go well when he tried to ramp up in May, and a CT scan later revealed a hairline fracture in his wrist. Now that the wrist is seemingly healed, it probably won't be too long before he's back with Double-A Tennessee.

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Bats leadoff Monday

Frazier, who collected five hits Monday, batted first in the lineup for the first time since May 29.

The second baseman hit leadoff only because Kevin Newman sat out after seeing his 19-game hitting streak come to an end over the weekend. Though he hit .266 with no homers in June, he's shown the ability to go on long streaks. In 2018, Frazier slashed .306/.357/.533 in his final 196 plate appearances following a month-long demotion.
