Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Clutch homer isn't enough
Marte went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run during Wednesday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to San Francisco.
Marte swatted his 18th home run of the season Wednesday, tagging Camilo Doval for a game-tying, two-run shot in the bottom of the ninth inning to send the game to extras. Marte has now hit six home runs in his last 12 games, going 16-for-47 (.340) with four doubles during that stretch. The star second baseman is slashing .300/.404/.595 in 2025.

Colt Keith 3B | DET
Tigers' Colt Keith: Doubles twice in twin bill
Keith went 4-for-6 with two doubles, one RBI and one run scored across both games of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Nationals.
Keith tallied three hits in Game 1 and then added a pinch-hit, RBI double in the sixth inning of Game 2. The 23-year-old is riding a modest five-game hitting streak and has hit safely in nine of his past 11 games overall, with the latter stretch including five extra-base hits, six RBI and seven runs scored. For the season, he's slashing .258/.339/.418 with six home runs, 26 RBI and 36 runs scored across 257 plate appearances.

Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Rangers' Marcus Semien: Stays hot with ninth long ball
Semien went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 6-0 victory over the Orioles.
Semien cracked his ninth round tripper of the campaign and also tallied his most RBI since May 30. The veteran middle infielder was batting a mere .173 while slugging just .224 through May 28, but he's bounced back in a big way from that dreadful start. Across his last 131 plate appearances, Semien is slashing .348/.412/.600 with 16 extra-base hits, 22 RBI, 25 runs scored and four stolen bases.

Christian Moore 2B | LAA
Angels' Christian Moore: Battling thumb issue
Moore was pulled from Wednesday's game versus Atlanta due to left thumb irritation.
Moore injured his thumb while making a diving play on a grounder in the sixth inning. The severity of the 23-year-old's injury remains unknown, but if he ends up needing to miss any time, Kevin Newman would likely benefit from extra starts at the keystone.

Christian Moore 2B | LAA
Angels' Christian Moore: Exits early Wednesday
Moore was removed from Wednesday's game against Atlanta due to an apparent wrist injury, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Moore landed awkwardly on his left hand/wrist while diving for a groundball in the sixth inning and immediately came out of the game. He'll presumably head in for imaging to determine the extent of the damage done, and the Angels should provide more information on his status in the near future.

Zack Short SS | HOU
Astros' Zack Short: Selected to active roster
The Astros selected Short's contract from Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Short has spent the entire season in Triple-A, slashing .211/.356/.402 across 320 plate appearances. He'll now join the big-league roster to replace the injured Luis Guillorme (hamstring), though Short isn't expected to see much playing time. Yordan Alvarez was transferred to the 60-day IL to clear a 40-man spot.

Luis Urias 2B | ATH
Athletics' Luis Urias: Exits early with hamstring issue
Urias went 0-for-2 before being removed in the bottom of the fourth inning of Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Rays due to right hamstring soreness, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Per Gallegos, manager Mark Kotsay said after the game that he doesn't think Urias' hamstring issue is significant enough to warrant a stay on the injured list, but the Athletics will have a better feel for the infielder's status after evaluating him during Thursday's off day. Even if he's able to quickly move past the hamstring injury, Urias' time as an everyday player could soon be over. The Athletics are expected to get second baseman Zack Gelof (ribs) back from the 60-day IL this weekend, and Miguel Andujar (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday and could soon be ready to return from the 10-day IL to reclaim a regular role at third base.

Zack Gelof 2B | ATH
Athletics' Zack Gelof: Closing in on season debut
Gelof (ribs) is likely to be activated from the 60-day injured list sometime during this weekend's series versus the Giants, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Gelof will play nine innings with Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday for the second straight day. Assuming he comes out of that game without any issues, he will be set to make his season debut for the Athletics this weekend. Gelof initially landed on the IL back in March due to a fractured hamate bone before a stress reaction in his ribs extended his absence. The 25-year-old has slashed .263/.453/.421 with one home run and three stolen bases in 13 rehab contests. Once activated, Gelof is likely to soak up the bulk of the playing time at second base for the Athletics.

Adam Frazier 2B | KC
Pirates' Adam Frazier: Fading into reserve role
Frazier is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.
The left-handed-hitting Frazier will hit the bench for the Pirates' third straight matchup with a right-hander (Sonny Gray) and appears to have moved back into a utility role. Though he's posted a .762 OPS while batting .306 dating back to May 20, Frazier has been overtaken in left field by Tommy Pham, who offers more power upside with four extra-base hits (two home runs, two doubles) in his last seven contests.

Luis Garcia 2B | WAS
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Not in lineup for first game
Garcia is absent from the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Tigers.
The left-handed-hitting Garcia will sit out the first game of the day, but he should be back in the lineup for the nightcap against right-hander Jack Flaherty. Amed Rosario will start at second base and bat third in the matinee.
