Torres will start at shortstop and bat third Sunday against the White Sox, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.

Torres was stuck in the bottom half of the lineup at the beginning of the season, but a slew of injuries to key players has allowed the 22-year-old to climb up the order. He's now hit fifth or higher in seven straight games and served as the Yankees' cleanup man for each of the previous three contests.

The Tigers recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A Toledo ahead of Sunday's game against the Twins, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Rodriguez will provide the Tigers with some added depth in the middle infield after Jordy Mercer exited Saturday's game with a right quadriceps strain and was placed on the 10-day injured list. Mercer had been serving as the Tigers' everyday shortstop, but it's unclear if Rodriguez will serve as Mercer's primary replacement or if Detroit will instead turn to Gordon Beckham or Niko Goodrum (illness) in that capacity.

Chavis has started four games at second base for Triple-A Pawtucket, the most starts at any one position in 2019, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

The Red Sox continue to move Chavis around the infield in preparation for what could be an introduction to MLB later this season. He hasn't made any errors in 18 chances at the keystone and has turned three double plays. In addition to starts at second base, Chavis has played three games at third and one game at first.

Altuve went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Mariners.

He's now gone yard in five straight games, slugging six of his seven homers on the year with 11 RBI and nine runs over that stretch. Altuve hasn't been running much so far -- he has only one steal in two attempts over 15 games -- but you don't need to swipe bases when you can hit the ball over the fence and trot around them all. The 28-year-old now boasts a .333/.379/.717 slash line, and while that SLG will come down eventually, his batting average and OBP are right in line with his career norms.

India (wrist) returned to action Saturday and homered for High-A Daytona.

The homer is the second on the season for India, the Reds' first-round pick last season. He's off to a slow start in a tough hitting track, hitting .211 with 12 strikeouts in 38 at-bats.

McNeil went 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored and two RBI in Friday's win over Atlanta.

With Brandon Nimmo slumping and dropped down in the order, McNeil got a shot at filling the leadoff spot and did what he's done all season so far: string together hits. The 27-year-old is slashing .359/.444/.487 through 12 games with seven runs and eight RBI, and his fantasy outlook can only improve if he sticks at the top of a potent Mets order.

Altuve went 2-for-5 with a grand slam in Friday's 10-6 win over the Mariners.

Altuve's sixth-inning granny was the type of clutch hit, with runners in scoring position, that has been rare for Houston's lineup early in the season. It comes as no surprise that it was Altuve who delivered the hit. No player is as dialed in as the six-time All Star, who homered for the fourth straight game and is 10-for-21 with five homers, 10 RBI and eight runs scored over the last five.

Merrifield went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and a stolen base in Friday's 8-1 win over Cleveland.

One game after seeing his club record 31-game hitting streak snapped, Merrifield got right back on his horse. The 30-year-old is now slashing .328/.361/.500 through 13 games with a homer, five steals, 13 runs and five RBI, and the Royals' leadoff hitter should remain the most reliable fantasy asset in the team's lineup.

Andrus went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and a stolen base in Friday's 8-6 loss to the A's.

The steal was his third of the year, while the homer was his second. Andrus is off to a great start, slashing .389/.400/.556 through 13 games, and while his 1:12 BB:K is a reminder that his batting average could cool off in a hurry, the 30-year-old shortstop is once again showing the 20-20 form he flashed in 2017.

Lowe went 2-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Friday's win over the Blue Jays.

Lowe slugged a pair of two-run homers in an 11-7 victory for the Rays. After launching six home runs over 43 games a season ago, the 24-year-old has put on a display of power to open up the 2019 campaign and now sits with four long balls in 13 contests.
