White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham is not sure he's going to be able to avoid landing on the disabled list with a sore left wrist, the Chicago Tribune reports Monday. Beckham sat out Monday against Detroit and is expected to rest the next two days. 

White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham was held out of the starting lineup Monday against the Tigers for a second straight game because of a sore left wrist. It is of no surprise after the team announced Sunday Beckham was expected to miss a few games.

Mariners infielder Nick Franklin hit a grand slam against the Astros Sunday.

With the bases loaded in the top of the second inning, Franklin took a Jordan Lyles fastball out to right field for the hit. He finished the game 2 for 6. Franklin is hitting .268/.330/.458 in 168 at-bats. 

Padres second baseman Logan Forsythe returned to action Sunday afternoon against the Cardinals after missing three games with a knee issue.

Forsythe, who had not been in the starting lineup since July 11, finished 1 for 4 with a single in the seventh inning of a 3-2 win. He has a .225/.298/.342 line in 111 at-bats.

Beckham is batting .357 (20 for 56) with a double, triple, two home runs and six RBI in 14 July games.

Astros second baseman Jose Altuve was back in the leadoff spot for the first time in seven games Sunday against the Mariners. Altuve is batting .323 with a .375 on-base percentage in the leadoff spot, which is better than the likes of leadoff hitters Jacoby Ellsbury and Ian Kinsler.

"I actually wish I could hit him one through nine, but they won't let me do that," manager Bo Porter joked, per MLB.com. "He's going to hit one or two. It all depends on who else is in the lineup. A lot of time it has to do with the other eight guys as to where he'll hit."

Padres second baseman Logan Forsythe was not in the starting lineup yet again Saturday against the Cardinals, despite declaring himself "good to go" with a knee injury. It is not yet known when he will return to the starting lineup.  

Padres infielder Logan Forsythe said he was "good to go" despite not playing in Friday's loss to the Cardinals. Forsythe has missed the past two games since twisting his knee Saturday, MLB.com reports. 

"I've dealt with knees and the feet plenty of times," Forsythe said. "It's just one of those things, as much as you stay on top of it, it's kind of frustrating when it creeps back up, but I think it's OK."

Forsythe has hit .226/.303/.349 with three home runs, 11 RBI and three stolen bases in 106 at-bats.

Beckham, who missed Sunday's game before the All-Star break, went 1 for 4 with a single in a 6-4 defeat. He is hitting .333 with two homers and 13 RBI in 162 at-bats.
