  • Angels' Michael Stefanic: Not starting Sunday

Stefanic (calf) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.

Stefanic will be on the bench for a second straight game while he tends to a right calf injury. With Brandon Drury (hamstring) also day-to-day and not included in the lineup, the Angels will have spots available in the infield for Jack Lopez at second base and Eric Wagaman at third base.

  • Angels' Brandon Drury: Still sitting Sunday

Drury (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

It's the third consecutive absence for Drury due to hamstring tightness, which first surfaced during Wednesday's matchup with the Twins. Jack Lopez is starting at the keystone and batting ninth in the series finale versus Houston.

  • Nicky Lopez 3B | COL

White Sox's Nicky Lopez: Sitting against lefty

Lopez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

The lefty-hitting Lopez starts more often than not against right-handed pitching, but he's been routinely exiting the lineup against left-handed pitching of late. With southpaw JP Sears toeing the rubber for Oakland, Lopez will give way to Jacob Amaya at shortstop.

  • Rays' Christopher Morel: Absence continuing Sunday

Morel (Achilles) is out of the lineup Sunday against the Guardians.

It's the second straight game on the bench for Morel after he exited Friday's contest due to right Achilles discomfort. He'll also have Monday's team off day to help in his recovery before Tuesday's series opener versus Boston.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Dealing with hamstring tightness

Rodgers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs due to right hamstring tightness, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

The injury will cost Rodgers a second straight start, but the Rockies don't seem to believe he's at risk of landing on the 10-day injured list. In fact, Lyons relays that the second baseman could be back in the lineup as soon as Monday's game against the Diamondbacks. Over the final two weeks of the season, the Rockies will play nine of their 12 games at hitter-friendly Coors Field, making Rodgers a more appealing fantasy option than usual if he's able to shake off the hamstring injury.

  • Bryson Stott 2B | PHI

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Not starting Sunday

Stott is absent from Sunday's lineup against the Mets.

Stott went 1-for-8 with one run scored over the first two games of the series, and he will begin Sunday's game in the dugout. Buddy Kennedy will start at second base and bat eighth against Mets left-hander David Peterson.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Slugs 10th homer

Bogaerts went 1-for-5 with a solo homer in Saturday's win over San Francisco.

Bogaerts jumped on a hanging sweeper from Mason Black in the top of the fourth and sent it into the stands for his 10th home run of the campaign and his third in September. The shortstop has now hit safely and driven in a run in three consecutive games, though he's still batting just .238 (10-for-42) this month with eight RBI and five runs scored. Bogaerts also has just two multi-hit games since Aug. 23.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Swipes 21st bag, scores twice

Altuve went 2-for-5 with a stolen base and two runs scored in Saturday's win over the Angels.

Altuve reached on a bunt single to lead off the contest and then stole second before coming around to score on a wild pitch from Tyler Anderson. The second baseman would also add a leadoff single and score for a second time in the fifth, this time on a long ball from Yordan Alvarez. Altuve continues to swing a hot bat and is now batting .378 (17-for-45) in September with five extra-base hits, six RBI and 10 runs scored. Saturday also marked his fifth multi-hit performance this month, while the stolen base was his first since Aug. 28 against the Phillies.

  • Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Sitting again Sunday

Holliday is absent from Sunday's lineup against Detroit.

Livan Soto will start at second base and bat ninth against Tigers right-hander Keider Montero. Since Sept. 1, Holliday has gone 5-for-35 with a 31.6 percent strikeout rate.

  • Edouard Julien 2B | COL

Twins' Edouard Julien: Absent from lineup

Julien is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Julien will begin Sunday's game in the dugout after going 0-for-7 with three strikeouts over the first two games of the series. Kyle Farmer will start at second base and bat eighth against Cincinnati right-hander Rhett Lowder.
