  • Royals' Michael Massey: Not in lineup for early game

    Massey is out of the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader in St. Louis.

    Massey will likely be back in the starting nine for the second game of the twin bill, but he'll get a breather in the early contest. Maikel Garcia will start at second base in Massey's stead.

  • Blue Jays' Isiah Kiner-Falefa: Resumes baseball activity

    Kiner-Falefa (knee) began doing some light running and throwing Tuesday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

    Tuesday marks the first time Kiner-Falefa has participated in any sort of baseball activity since he landed on the injured list last week due to a sprained left knee. He still has a few boxes to check off before being cleared to return to game action and may also require a minor-league rehab assignment, but the 29-year-old seems to be trending in the right direction.

  • Luke Keaschall 2B | MIN

    Twins' Luke Keaschall: Named to Futures Game

    Keaschall was selected to represent the Twins in the 2024 All-Star Futures Game, MLB.com reports. He's hitting .307 with two home runs and a .857 OPS in 37 games since being promoted to Double-A Wichita.

    Keaschall replaced Brooks Lee, who was called up to the majors last week. Keaschall, the 49th overall pick in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft, has maintained good walk rates (13.6%) and decent strikeout rates (21.1%) at Double-A.

  • Colt Keith 3B | DET

    Tigers' Colt Keith: Goes deep again Tuesday

    Keith 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and two additional runs scored in Tuesday's 9-8, 10-inning loss to the Guardians.

    It's hard to believe that Keith was batting just .154 with no home runs at the end of April, as the rookie has turned it on since then. In 55 games from May onward, Keith is batting .294 with eight long balls and 27 RBI, and he has four homers and seven RBI over the last six contests alone. The 22-year-old was a high-upside prospect in the minors and he's starting to deliver on that promise in the majors, much to the delight of fantasy managers.

  • Blue Jays' Spencer Horwitz: Idle vs lefty

    Horwitz isn't in the Blue Jays' lineup Tuesday versus the Giants.

    Horwitz will be on the bench Tuesday with lefty Blake Snell pitching for San Francisco. Leo Jimenez has the start at second base and is batting ninth.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Scratched from lineup

    India was a late scratch Tuesday versus the Rockies due to a left knee contusion.

    India was set to start at second and bat leadoff Tuesday. The second baseman Is coming off of an impressive June in which he slashed .380/.454/.587, but due to the injury, Santiago Espinal will take his place at the keystone and bat eighth Tuesday. Spencer Steer will now bat leadoff.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | COL

    Giants' Thairo Estrada: Reinstated off IL, starting Tuesday

    The Giants reinstated Estrada (wrist) from the 10-day injured list, and he will start at second base and bat seventh in Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

    Estrada had been playing through multiple injuries before being placed on the 10-day IL on June 28 with a left wrist sprain. He didn't end up needing a rehab assignment, and his return bolsters the San Francisco infield. Estrada is slashing .231/.264/.376 with nine home runs and 39 RBI over 311 plate appearances this season.

  • Brandon Drury 1B | CHW

    Angels' Brandon Drury: Starting at third base

    Drury is batting fifth and making his first start at third base since 2022 in Tuesday's game versus the Rangers.

    With Luis Rengifo (wrist) on the 10-day injured list and Keston Hiura starting at second base, Drury is making his return to third. In the 2022 season, Drury made 67 starts at third base and 27 at second, but his subsequent 119 starts have all come at the keystone.

    Reds' Tony Kemp: Joins Reds on MiLB deal

    Kemp signed a minor-league contract with the Reds on Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

    Kemp signed an NRI deal with Cincinnati this spring but opted out of the contract in hopes of landing a spot on a big-league roster. He's since spent time in the Orioles' and Twins' organizations and is hitless in 10 major-league at-bats this season. Kemp will report to Triple-A Louisville, but the Reds are dealing with a plethora of injuries and could require the 32-year-old utility man's versatility in near future.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

    Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Rejoining lineup Tuesday

    Torres (groin) is starting at second base and batting fifth Tuesday against the Rays.

    Torres hasn't seen the field since Friday while batting groin soreness, but he's back in the starting nine for Tuesday's series opener in Tampa Bay. The 27-year-old batted .308 with a double and a homer in the seven games preceding the brief absence.
