  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Swipes bag in loss

Hoerner went 2-for-4 with a walk, one stolen base and one run scored in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Giants.

Hoerner hasn't hit all that well in June (.194), but he's logged six steals over 19 contests this month. The infielder is up to 12 thefts on 14 attempts for the season, providing speed atop the Cubs' lineup. He's added a .241/.331/.327 slash line with two home runs, 18 RBI, 36 runs scored, 14 doubles and a triple over 70 contests.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Doubles twice, scores three runs

India batted leadoff and went 3-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI, three runs scored and a walk in Monday's win over Pittsburgh.

India, who replaced the injured TJ Friedl (hamstring) atop Cincinnati's batting order, picked up a hit and scored a run in each of the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. It was his third straight multi-hit game, boosting his season OPS from .696 to .732 in the process. He's gone 11-for-23 (.478) with five extra-base hits over his last six games. India is now slashing .258/.363/.369 with 16 extra-base this and 33 runs scored through 71 games.

  • Brandon Drury 1B | CHW

Angels' Brandon Drury: Available to pinch hit Monday

Drury (illness) went through a workout before Monday's game against the Athletics and will be available off the bench, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Drury has been held out of the lineup since Saturday due to an upper respiratory virus, but he's close to returning to the starting lineup. Michael Stefanic draws the start at second base Monday with Drury available off the bench.

  • Nick Loftin 1B | KC

Royals' Nick Loftin: Could be on outs for everyday role

Loftin is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins.

Loftin had started in each of the Royals' last six games and served as the club's leadoff hitter in two of those contests, but playing time may be harder to come by for him after Kansas City brought back Michael Massey (back) from the injured list Monday. Massey is serving as the Royals' designated hitter Monday, but he should soon resume regular duties at second base, where Loftin had been seeing most of his playing time over the past month.

  • Nicky Lopez 3B | ARI

White Sox's Nicky Lopez: Taking seat against lefty

Lopez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.

Lopez and fellow left-handed hitters Gavin Sheets and Andrew Benintendi will hit the bench as the White Sox go with an all-right-handed-hitting lineup versus Dodgers southpaw James Paxton. Danny Mendick will replace Lopez at second base and bat ninth.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Sitting against southpaw

Lux is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.

The lefty-hitting Lux will retreat to the bench for the third time in four games while the Dodgers face off against another lefty (Garrett Crochet). Chris Taylor will step in for Lux at second base.

  • Vaughn Grissom SS | LAA

Red Sox's Vaughn Grissom: Not ready for rehab assignment

Grissom has been cleared for a running program and is making progress in his recovery from a right hamstring strain, but the Red Sox haven't yet cleared him to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Though Grissom seems to be trending in a positive direction as he works his way back from the hamstring strain that sent him to the injured list June 2, he looks to be at least a week away from seeing game action in the minors. Once he's ready to return from the IL, Grissom may not have a regular role waiting for him with the big club, as Enmanuel Valdez has found success as a strong-side platoon player at second base following his call-up from Triple-A Worcester on May 29. Rather than having Grissom displace Valdez as the team's starter or have him occupy the short side of a platoon, the Red Sox may prefer to option Grissom to Worcester upon activating him so that he can receive regular reps.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | KC

Royals' Adam Frazier: Goes on IL with strained thumb

The Royals placed Frazier on the 10-day injured list Monday with a right thumb strain.

Frazier suffered the injury during Saturday's 6-0 loss to the Rangers during a collision in the field with teammate Garrett Hampson. It's not clear how long he'll be out, but the issue was deemed significant enough to keep Frazier on the shelf until at least early July.

  • Royals' Michael Massey: Returns from injured list

The Royals activated Massey (back) from the 10-day injured list Monday. He'll serve as the Royals' designated hitter and No. 5 batter in Monday's game against the Marlins.

Massey has been limited to just 29 games this season because of a pair of back-related absences. He responded well to a recent pain-killing injection, however, and is ready to rejoin the Royals after completing a five-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Omaha this past week. There's certainly risk in another aggravation of the back issue, but Massey is worth picking up in fantasy leagues where available given how well he had been hitting before getting hurt (.835 OPS in 110 plate appearances with Kansas City).

  • Levi Jordan 2B | CIN

Reds' Levi Jordan: Receives call to majors

The Reds selected Jordan's contract from Triple-A Louisville on Monday.

A minor-league Rule 5 pickup over the offseason, Jordan will get his first call to the big leagues at 28 years old. Jordan slashed .302/.384/.443 with five home runs and six stolen bases this season with Louisville while seeing time at left field, center field, second base and third base. He'll make his MLB debut at a new position Monday against the Pirates, starting in right field and batting eighth. The righty-hitting Jordan will likely see most of his starts against left-handed pitching while he's up with the Reds.
