David Hensley 1B | DET
Astros' David Hensley: Jettisoned off 40-man roster
The Astros designated Hensley for assignment Monday.
The transaction opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for utility man Aledmys Diaz, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Sugar Land. After reaching the big leagues for the first time in 2022, Hensley made two starts for the Astros' World Series-winning club later that fall, but he's struggled to stick around in the majors ever since. The 28-year-old posted a lowly .380 OPS over 94 plate appearances with Houston in 2023 and had spent the entire 2024 season at Sugar Land, with whom he slashed .234/.352/.376 with seven home runs and 17 stolen bases over 81 games before being designated for assignment.

Edouard Julien 2B | COL
Twins' Edouard Julien: Retreats to bench
Julien is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies.
Following his promotion from Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, Julien started at second base for both games of the Twins' series with the Brewers, going 1-for-4 with a pair of walks. Though he should have a regular spot in the lineup against right-handed pitching while the Twins are without Royce Lewis (groin) and Carlos Correa (heel), the lefty-hitting Julien will likely sit frequently against left-handers. Julien will cede the keystone to Brooks Lee on Monday while the Twins take on southpaw Ranger Suarez.

Gavin Lux SS | TB
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Another strong performance Sunday
Lux went 3-for-4 with a solo homer, a double, a steal, two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Red Sox.
Lux began his night with an RBI double in the first inning and then added a solo shot in the fourth, extending his extra-base streak to four straight at-bats with two doubles and two long balls. Over his last seven games, the 26-year-old is slashing .429/.455/.952 and has raised his OPS above .600 for the first time all season. Lux is slashing .225/.276/.333 with five homers, 27 RBI, 31 runs and a 19:60 BB:K in 286 plate appearances.

Vidal Brujan 2B | NYM
Marlins' Vidal Brujan: Nabs steal in Sunday's win
Brujan went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Mets.
Getting a start in center field and batting eighth, Brujan recorded his first multi-hit performance since May 17. The 26-year-old utility player could find himself in a much more prominent role if Jazz Chisholm gets moved at the trade deadline, but Brujan doesn't offer much fantasy appeal given his .228/.305/.328 slash line over 201 plate appearances and a poor 4-for-7 showing on the basepaths.

Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL
Braves' Ozzie Albies: Lands on IL with fractured wrist
Atlanta placed Albies on the 10-day injured list Monday with a fractured left wrist.
Albies suffered the unfortunate injury during Sunday's game versus the Cardinals while attempting to apply a tag on a stolen-base attempt. The expectation is that he will miss about eight weeks of action, which would put Albies on the shelf until mid-September. Rookie Nacho Alvarez will get a chance to cover second base in Albies' absence, with Whit Merrifield and Zack Short also around to provide depth.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Heading to bench Monday
Torres is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays.
After seeing his four-game hitting streak come to an end while also committing a costly error in the field in Sunday's 6-4 loss, Torres will head to the bench as the Yankees wrap up their series with the Rays. Oswaldo Cabrera will check in for Torres at the keystone.

Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM
Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Pops homer Sunday
Polanco went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Astros.
Polanco got going with a 394-foot solo blast to right center off Ronel Blanco in the fourth inning, extending the Mariners' lead to 3-1. He later singled in the sixth and came around to score on a three-run homer by Luke Raley. Polanco's home run was his first since May 3 and his sixth on the year. He has three multi-hit games since July 9 after having after having just two such games entering the month. It's been a struggle overall for the 30-year-old, as he's slashing .205/.291/.304 with 19 RBI, 20 runs and a 24:79 BB:K in 251 plate appearances.

Vaughn Grissom 2B | LAA
Red Sox's Vaughn Grissom: Productive rehab start
Grissom (hamstring) started at second base and went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI in a rehab game for Triple-A Worcester on Sunday.
Grissom played six innings in the field before being removed. He began his rehab assignment Saturday, serving as the designated hitter and going hitless in two at-bats with two walks and a stolen base. The Red Sox believe Grissom could need close to the maximum 20 days for his rehab assignment, pushing his potential return from the 10-day injured list into the second week of August.

Justin Foscue 1B | TEX
Rangers' Justin Foscue: Makes second straight start
Foscue started at designated hitter and went 0-for-3 in Sunday's 3-2 win over Baltimore.
Foscue made his second straight start since being promoted from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday and has gone 1-for-7 with a double and a run scored between those two contests. Both starts have come against right-handed pitching, and Foscue appears to have overtaken the lefty-hitting Travis Jankowski as the preferred option at DH.
