Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: First homer since return
Lowe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Tuesday against the Rangers.
Lowe took Grant Anderson deep in the seventh inning, marking his first home run since he returned from the injured list July 4. He's hit poorly in that span but is reaching base at a .344 clip while striking out at only at a 15.6 percent rate. Lowe will remain in a large-side platoon role at second base.

Liover Peguero SS | PIT
Pirates' Liover Peguero: Sitting Wednesday
Peguero is not in the starting lineup Wednesday versus the Guardians.
Peguero will head to the bench after he went 0-for-6 with five strikeouts over the first two games of the series. Tucupita Marcano will start at shortstop and bat seventh in the series finale with Cleveland.

Jordan Diaz 3B | ATH
Athletics' Jordan Diaz: On base twice in return
Diaz (illness) started Tuesday's win over the Red Sox at designated hitter and went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk.
Diaz had exited Monday's game early due to illness but made a quick return less than 24 hours later. The 22-year-old responded with his third extra-base hit of July and second in the last three games, which, when paired with his walk, pushed his on-base percentage during the month to an impressive .351 across 37 plate appearances. Diaz is helping his cause by keeping his strikeout rate manageable (22.5 percent), and a minor-league resume that includes figures of 17.9 percent or lower in that category over seven professional seasons suggests he'll continue whittling it down the more reps he receives versus big-league arms.

Jonathan India 2B | KC
Reds' Jonathan India: Homers in loss
India went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 4-2 loss to San Francisco.
Monday's game was suspended after nearly two hours of rain and thunder before the two teams finished up Tuesday. India's seventh-inning home run Monday tied the game and set up the suspended state. The second baseman entered the game looking for answers to an extended slump. India batted .156 with a .567 OPS over the 25 games preceding Monday's tilt.

Josh Rojas 3B | CHW
Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Makes appearance in ACL
Rojas (back) served as the designated hitter in a game at the Arizona Complex League on Tuesday. He went 1-for-3.
Rojas hadn't played since July 1, when Triple-A Reno placed him on the injured list with a lower-back injury. Arizona manager Torey Lovullo told Theo Mackie of the Arizona Republic that the infielder is "getting his swing back together," which makes it sound like the manager's primary concern is less the back than the swing. Rojas was demoted to the minors June 19 after posting a .607 OPS for the Diamondbacks.

Brendan Donovan 2B | SEA
Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Homers in Tuesday's win
Donovan went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 5-2 extra-inning win over the Marlins.
Donovan tied the game at 1-1 with his sixth-inning solo shot. The utility man is still about a week away from returning to the field while battling an arm injury. It's had little impact on his hitting -- Donovan has gone 15-for-41 (.366) with three homers and 10 RBI over 11 contests in July. He's up to a .285/.372/.433 slash line with 11 homers, 34 RBI, 41 runs scored and four stolen bases through 85 games. Donovan should remain as the designated hitter until he returns to the field.

Edouard Julien 2B | COL
Twins' Edouard Julien: Stays red-hot Tuesday
Julien went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and two additional runs scored in Tuesday's 10-3 win over the Mariners.
Julien has multiple hits in five of his last six games, including back-to-back three-hit efforts. He's homered four times in July, accounting for half of his long balls this season. The second baseman is staking a strong claim to his spot in the lineup with a .308/.380/.548 slash line, 15 RBI, 24 runs scored and two stolen bases over 47 contests. Jorge Polanco (hamstring) could be back by the end of the week, but it figures manager Rocco Baldelli will find a spot for Julien as long as his bat is hot.

Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Rangers' Marcus Semien: Homers amid three-hit day
Semien went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during Tuesday's 5-3 win against the Rays.
Semien entered the All-Star break with a .544 OPS in the previous nine games, but he's come out hot to start the second half, going 7-for-16 with two homers, four walks, three RBI and seven runs through five contests. The 32-year-old has a .278/.347/.453 slash line with 27 doubles, 13 long balls, nine steals, 59 RBI and an AL-leading 77 runs in 96 contests this season.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Provides only offense in loss
Torres went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Angels.
Torres' streak of six straight multi-hit games came to an end, but he's hit safely in nine straight contests. During that span, he's gone 16-for-38 (.421). The second baseman had half of the Yankees' hits in this contest. He's up to a .264/.333/.430 slash line with 14 homers, 39 RBI, 55 runs scored and eight stolen bases over 95 games this season. He continues to routinely bat in the top third of the Yankees' lineup.

Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Records three hits in rout
Hoerner went 3-for-6 with two runs scored and two RBI in Tuesday's 17-3 win over the Nationals.
Hoerner was one of three Chicago players with at least three hits as the team won by the equivalent of two touchdowns. All three hits were singles, and Hoerner hasn't homered since June 21, a span of 20 games. However, he's been an effective table setter for the Cubs with 21 stolen bases and 50 runs scored this season in 86 games.
