Sam Haggerty LF | TEX
Mariners' Sam Haggerty: Productive as pinch hitter
Haggerty entered Sunday's extra-innings loss to the Guardians as a pinch hitter in the 11th inning, drawing a walk and recording a stolen base.
The versatile utility man made good use of his one plate appearance, reaching safely for the third straight game in the process. Haggerty has logged just 13 plate appearances overall in his first six games, but he's now swiped a pair of bases in that brief sample after recording a career-high 13 steals across 201 plate appearances in 2022.

Whit Merrifield 2B | ATL
Blue Jays' Whit Merrifield: Swipes first bag
Merrifield went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, one RBI and one stolen base in Sunday's extra-inning win over the Angels.
The 34-year-old put together his first multi-hit game of the season while also collecting his first steal. Merrifield's had a tepid start to the season, batting .241 (7-for-29) through eight games, but he stole 40 bases as recently as 2021 and could make a big impact in that category once he starts getting on base more consistently.

Romy Gonzalez DH | BOS
White Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Swipes first bag
Gonzalez went 1-for-3 with a stolen base Sunday against the Pirates.
Gonzalez started against a right-handed pitcher for the first time this season while stepping into the lineup for Luis Robert to get a day of rest. He reached base on a single in the fifth inning and then swiped second base for his first stolen base of the season. Gonzalez has three hits in 13 at-bats this season, but he's not getting consistent playing time.

Josh Rojas 3B | KC
Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Logs three-hit game in win
Rojas went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and a stolen base in Sunday's 11-6 win over the Dodgers.
Rojas set the tone early for the Diamondbacks, leading off with a single, stealing second base then coming home on Pavin Smith's double. This was Rojas' third three-hit game, and he extended a hit streak to four. If his defense holds up, Rojas should continue as the strongside of a platoon at third base.

Ha-seong Kim SS | ATL
Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Hits second homer, drives in three
Kim went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, a walk and three RBI during Sunday's 10-2 victory in Atlanta.
Kim entered Sunday's contest in a 2-for-15 slump, but he busted out early with an RBI double during the second inning and then launched a two-run homer in the fifth. The 27-year-old has a .281/.343/.594 slash line with two home runs, four doubles, four RBI and four runs through nine games this year.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Drives in five more runs
Lowe went 2-for-4 with a homer, five RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 11-0 win over the Athletics.
Lowe didn't produce many counting stats over his first five games of the season, but he was dominant over the last two games after getting a pair of days to rest. He blasted a grand slam in the bottom of the fourth inning during Sunday's series finale to help the Rays cruise to an 11-0 win, keeping the team undefeated over the first nine games of the year. The 28-year-old now has a 1.035 OPS with two homers, eight runs and eight RBI over seven games in 2023.

Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Rangers' Marcus Semien: Drives in three runs
Semien went 2-for-5 with a double, three RBI and a run scored in Sunday's win over the Cubs.
Semien knocked a two-run double during the Rangers' four-run second inning and later added an RBI single in the sixth. It was his second straight game with a double after five consecutive outings with no extra-base knocks. Semien is slashing .231/.244/.359 with six RBI and a 1:9 BB:K through 41 plate appearances.

Luis Garcia 1B | NYY
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Remains out Sunday
Garcia (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Sunday's contest against the Rockies.
Garcia will miss at least one more game after being pulled from Friday's contest with tightness in his hamstring. Ildemaro Vargas will get the start at second base and hit eighth against Ryan Feltner and the Colorado pitching staff for Sunday's series finale.
-
Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Gets rest Sunday
Marte is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Dodgers.
Marte will receive a day of rest against the Dodgers on Sunday after going 3-for-5 with a homer and three runs scored in Saturday's victory for the Diamondbacks. Geraldo Perdomo will get the start at second base and hit eighth for the series finale.

Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Stays active on bases
Hoerner went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's win over the Rangers.
Hoerner has been a solid leadoff man for the Cubs with a .333 batting average and three stolen bases through seven games. The new MLB rules that encourage base stealing seem to be benefitting the shortstop, and he could surpass last year's career-best total of 20 steals fairly quickly at this rate. That gives Hoerner plenty of fantasy value, though he's still seeking his first home run of the season.
