Rays third baseman Evan Longoria went 0 for 4 in Tuesday's loss to Cleveland.

Longoria struck out once and saw his seven-game hitting streak come to an end. Longoria hit .370 with 1.008 OPS over the streak.

Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe doubled and had an RBI single during an 11-7 loss to the Reds on Monday. He also had two runs.

Plouffe is up to 18 doubles, including eight in his last 16 games. He is batting .263 (15 for 57) with one home run, eight RBI, 10 runs, five walks, five strikeouts and one stolen base in his last 15 games.

The Orioles may have gotten beat up by the Rangers on Monday, but that didn't stop third baseman Manny Machado from staying hot at the plate. Machado went 2 for 4 on Monday with his 18th double of the season in the 8-1 loss.

The two-hit effort brings his current hitting streak up to 11 games. The streak has lifted his season batting average up from .289 to it's current .307 mark.

The Blue Jays will apparently not be negotiating a contract extension with slugging third baseman Josh Donaldson any time soon.

General manager Alex Anthopoulos indicated as much when asked about it Monday. "I don't think so," he told 590 The Fan.

Donaldson has more than lived up to expectations this season with a slash line of .301/.360/.540 and 48 RBI. He is enjoying arguably his best season, but the lack of motivation to extend him is understandable. He is locked up through 2018.

Orioles third baseman Manny Machado extended his hitting streak to nine games in his team's win voer the Indians on Sunday.

Machado went 1 for 4 with a walk and two RBI. He doubled to left field in the sixth inning, which brought two runners across the plate to score.

During his nine-game hitting streak, Machado is hitting .436 with 17 hits, four doubles and nine RBI.

Indians third baseman Giovanny Urshela is not in the lineup for the second game of Sunday's doubleheader.

Urshela went 1 for 3 in the first game earlier in the day, which extended his current hit streak to six games.

Over the last six games, he's hitting .286 with six hits in 21 at-bats.

Orioles third baseman Manny Machado connected on his 15th home run of the season during Sunday's 4-0 win over the Indians.

Machado hit the solo shot off Trevor Bauer in the sixth inning. He finished the game 2 for 4 with one RBI.

Prior to his two-hit game Sunday, Machado was hitting .429 with one home run and seven RBI in his last eight games.

Josh Donaldson had another big day for the Blue Jays on Sunday, cracking his 18th homer of the season to power Toronto to a victory over the Rangers. 

Donaldson opened the scoring for the Jays with a fourth-inning home run to left field, which also gave him 48 RBIs on the season. Donaldson added another hit to raise his average back over the .300 mark at .301. 

The Blue Jays' slugger has hit safely in eight of his last 10 contests, but this was his first home run since June 10, a span of 14 games. 

Rays third baseman Evan Longoria homered and doubled in Saturday's win over Boston. 

Longoria had two extra base hits in a game for the first time since May 26. He went 2 for 4 and extended his hitting streak to five games. He's hitting .400 over that span (8 for 20). 

Longoria hit his eighth home run and drove in his 34th run. He added his 15th double of the year. 

Left fielder Eduardo Escobar managed one of seven hits for the Twins on Saturday in Milwaukee, but it not only jump-started his team, it proved to be the difference in the game.

Escobar smashed a three-run homer in the fourth inning that turned a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 lead in a three-run win. It was his fourth home run of the season and gave him 26 RBI this season.
