Machado had his suspension hearing earlier this week, and was expected to get word on his appeal soon. Machado is expected to serve at least a couple games of his suspension, but will continue to start until MLB makes an official ruling following his appeal.

Twins expect Trevor Plouffe, Eduardo Nunez back Monday
The Twins expect to have both Trevor Plouffe and Eduardo Nunez back from the disabled list Monday, according to MLB.com.
Plouffe was with the team in Texas taking batting practice, while recovering from a rib injury, while Nunez is working his way back from a hamstring injury at Double-A New Britain.

Rehab stint not necessary for Trevor Plouffe
Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe will not require a minor league rehab assignment as he recovers from an oblique injury that has had him sidelined since June 14. He should be activated from the disabled list by Monday, per the St. Paul Pioneer-Press.
He will return with a stat line of .241/.320/.400 and 38 RBI in 245 at-bats.

Orioles third baseman Manny Machado continued to find himself at the plate Friday as the lone bright spot in the opener of a doubleheader against Tampa Bay. He slugged a solo home run in the seventh inning and added a single.
Machado has eight hits in his last five games to elevate his average to .243.

Trevor Plouffe to work out with team this weekend
Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe will join the team Thursday night and work out with the team in Texas over the weekend, MLB.com reports.
The news indicates that the Twins don't believe Plouffe needs a rehab assignment before returning from the disabled list early next week. Fellow injured infielder Eduardo Nunez is being sent on a rehab assignment Thursday, while Plouffe will fly to Texas to be with the team. He's expected to return from left rib inflammation early next week.

Rays third baseman Evan Longoria totaled his 37th RBI during Wednesday's 5-1 win against the Pirates. Longoria, who homered Tuesday, finished 1 for 4 with two runs.
Longoria is batting .268 (15 for 56) with three doubles, three home runs, 11 RBI, 10 runs and one stolen base in his last 14 games.

The meeting lasted about an hour. Machado did not receive an immediate response, and isn't sure when MLB will make a decision regarding his suspension. Machado is trying to get his five game suspension reduced. Machado is hitting .237/.287/.335 over 194 at-bats.

Trevor Plouffe, Eduardo Nunez expected back after road trip
Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said he expects third baseman Trevor Plouffe (left rib inflammation) and infielder Eduardo Nunez (hamstring) to be ready to come off the 15-day disabled list after the team finishes a six-game road trip June 29, per MLB.com.
"I don't know if they're even going to need rehab," Gardenhire said. "When we get back from this trip, they should be both ready. Whether they're going to rehab or not, we're not decided yet."
