Tigers' Tyler Nevin: Back on bench versus righty

Nevin is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers.

Nevin had started in three of the Tigers' past four games -- all against right-handed pitchers -- but he'll head back to the bench for Monday's series opener. With Javier Baez moving past a minor finger injury and Zach McKinstry swinging a hot bat of late to at least temporarily earn himself more reps against right-handers, Nevin may have to settle for a short-side platoon role in the Detroit infield.

  • Oswald Peraza 3B | LAA

Yankees' Oswald Peraza: Heads to bench Monday

Peraza is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins.

Peraza will take a seat after going 2-for-12 with a pair of walks, two RBI, two runs and a stolen base while starting each of the past four games. Though he's on the bench for Monday's series opener in Minnesota, Peraza could have a path to fairly regular playing time until the Yankees get one of their three banged-up everyday players -- Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring), Josh Donaldson (hamstring) and Harrison Bader (oblique) back from the 10-day injured list.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Getting day off

Henderson is not in the Orioles' lineup for Monday's game versus the Red Sox, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Henderson has scuffled against both righties and lefties this season, but his struggles versus southpaws has been more pronounced with a .489 OPS. He'll take a seat Monday with the Red Sox throwing left-hander Chris Sale. Ramon Urias will be at third base and Adam Frazier will get a start at second base versus a lefty.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Three hits Sunday

LeMahieu went 3-for-4 with a double in Sunday's 5-1 loss against the Blue Jays.

LeMahieu was the lone Yankee to record multiple hits in the 5-1 loss. The 34-year-old infielder has gotten off to a solid start this season, slashing .281/.361/.500 with two homers, eight RBI and 12 runs scored through his first 72 plate appearances. LeMahieu still offers solid fantasy value while hitting in the middle of the Yankees lineup.

  • Jose Miranda 3B | MIN

Twins' Jose Miranda: On base thrice in win

Mirando went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Twins.

Miranda found himself on base in the second, third, fifth and eighth inning, although his last time getting on was due to a fielder's choice. He came across to put the Twins up 3-1 in the fifth after walking in the inning. The 24-year-old has begun to turn things around at the plate, tallying seven hits over his last five games after he had just 14 total over his first 17 games. Miranda has yet to leave the yard thus far, and hopefully his recent surge is a sign of better things to come.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Drives in four

Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and four RBI in Sunday's win over the Marlins.

Ramirez gave the Guardians the lead with a two-run blast in the third inning before driving in another two runs with a sacrifice fly and an RBI double. The switch-hitting third baseman is slashing .267/.350/.477 with three home runs, 16 RBI, 11 runs scored and four stolen bases through his first 100 plate appearances this season.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Clutch hitting Saturday

Suarez went 1-for-4 with a two-run single in a win over the Cardinals on Saturday.

The veteran slugger drove home Kolten Wong and J.P. Crawford with a two-out single in the seventh inning that snapped a 3-3 tie and wound up being the difference in the game. The timely knock pushed Suarez's RBI total to a team-leading 15, and he's now hitting .360 across 32 plate appearances with runners in scoring position this season.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Gets breather against Royals

Rendon is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Royals, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Rendon will take a seat after going 0-for-7 in the first two games of the series against Kansas City. Gio Urshela is at third base and hitting sixth in his place.

  • Tyler Nevin 3B | ATH

Tigers' Tyler Nevin: Late addition to lineup

Nevin is starting at third base and batting seventh Sunday against the Orioles.

The 25-year-old was originally absent from Sunday's lineup, but he was added to the starting nine after Javier Baez (finger) was scratched. Nevin has yet to find much success in his first five big-league games of the season, going 1-for-13 with an RBI and two walks.

  • Tyler Nevin 3B | ATH

    Tigers' Tyler Nevin: Sitting Sunday

Nevin is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.

He'll cede his spot in the lineup to Zach McKinstry, who will be rewarded with a start at third base after slugging a solo home run in Saturday's 5-1 loss. Though a regular spot in the starting nine is there for the taking for Nevin while a punchless Tigers offense has now failed to score more than four runs in five straight games, the 25-year-old remains part of the team's wholesale issues at the plate. Through five games with the big club, Nevin is hitting .077 with five strikeouts in 17 plate appearances.
