  • Jonah Bride 3B | TEX

Athletics' Jonah Bride: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Bride is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Marlins.

Bride has a .610 OPS through 16 games in August and will take a seat after starting the previous four contests. Tony Kemp will move to second base while Seth Brown and Chad Pinder start in the corner outfield spots.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Promotion not coming Tuesday

Henderson will be in the lineup and playing second base Tuesday for Triple-A Norfolk, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

As of Tuesday, Henderson can officially be recalled from Triple-A without exhausting his prospect eligibility for 2023 via days on the active roster, but he would need to have no more than 130 at-bats over the rest of the season. There have been rumors that he will join the big-league club sometime this week, so Henderson, a top-three prospect in the game, should be rostered as a speculative add in most redraft leagues at this point.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Not starting Tuesday

Urias is not in the lineup Tuesday against the White Sox, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Urias has gone 8-for-22 with four runs and three RBI in his last six contests. While Urias sits Tuesday, Rougned Odor will slide to third base and Terrin Vavra will start at second base.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

    Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Starting Monday

Donaldson (illness) is starting at third base and batting fifth Monday against the Mets.

Donaldson will return to the lineup after missing the last two games with a stomach ailment. The 36-year-old currently owns a four-game hit streak, batting .250 with a grand slam over that stretch.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Rays' Isaac Paredes: Fills in for Ji-Man Choi on Monday

Paredes will start at first base and bat third in Monday's game against the Angels, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

He'll pick up his fourth consecutive start Monday after going 2-for-11 with two doubles and a run over the final three contests of the Rays' weekend series with the Royals. The righty-hitting Paredes should be a fixture in the lineup against southpaws moving forward, but his opportunities versus same-handed pitching will likely be more sporadic. He'll be spelling the lefty-hitting Ji-Man Choi in the lineup Monday with southpaw Tucker Davidson taking the hill for Anaheim.

  • Curtis Mead 3B | BOS

Rays' Curtis Mead: Back in action at Triple-A

Mead (elbow) was reinstated from the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Durham and went 2-for-4 with a double and a walk Saturday.

One of the best pure hitters in the minors, Mead missed four weeks with a right elbow strain. It's encouraging that he was able to make it back before the end of the season, seemingly putting any thoughts of a potential surgery behind him. Mead is hitting .296/.390/.537 with a 17.6 percent strikeout rate and an 11.0 percent walk rate as a 21-year-old at Double-A and Triple-A.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Racking up XBH in August

Suarez, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, a triple and a run in an extra-inning loss to the Athletics on Saturday, is hitting just .213 in August but has laced nine of his 13 hits during the month for extra bases.

The veteran slugger's three-bagger Saturday was his second of the season, tying a career high he'd reached in five previous seasons as well. Suarez's lackluster average during the current month, which is partly the result of a .194 BABIP, is offset by multiple favorable metrics -- he's sporting a .347 on-base percentage largely due to a 13.3 percent walk rate, he's belted six home runs as part of his aforementioned extra-base-hit haul and he's collected 17 RBI in 18 games courtesy of a .333 average with men on base, including a .500 figure with runners in scoring position.

  • Taylor Walls SS | TB

    Rays' Taylor Walls: Idle Sunday

Walls is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Yu Chang will draw the start at shortstop while Walls sits in the series finale. Walls had previously started in each of the Rays' last 11 games while slashing .242/.375/.424 with a home run, three doubles, six runs, four RBI, a stolen base and, perhaps most impressively, a 7:5 BB:K.

  • Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Resting Sunday

Candelario is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

Candelario recently returned from a one-game absence due to a non-COVID-19-related illness, so the Tigers may just be exercising some caution by keeping him out of the lineup for the series finale. Kody Clemens will fill in for Candelario at third base.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Not ready to start Sunday

Donaldson (illness) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

Manager Aaron Boone will hand Donaldson a second straight day off while he recovers from a stomach ailment, though the veteran could still be available off the bench for the series finale. DJ LeMahieu will fill in for Donaldson at third base.
