Royce Lewis 3B | MIN
Twins' Royce Lewis: Returns to minors
The Twins optioned Lewis to Triple-A St. Paul following Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Athletics, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
With Carlos Correa (finger) due to return from the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Lewis' time as Minnesota's everyday shortstop was set to end, and the organization decided the 22-year-old was best off playing on a regular basis at Triple-A rather than more sporadically as a super-utility man in the big leagues. Lewis ended his first stint in the majors with a bang, going 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double Tuesday to bring his OPS up to .889 through his first 11 MLB games. According to Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Lewis will see most of his action at shortstop as a he returns to Triple-A, though the Twins plan to move him around and give him some exposure to different positions in an effort to increase his pathways to at-bats when he makes his return to the big club.

Ramon Urias 3B | STL
Orioles' Ramon Urias: Homers in Tuesday's loss
Urias went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Yankees.
Urias got the Orioles on the board with a solo shot in the second inning. In the fourth, he forced an error that led to another run scoring. The 27-year-old has moved over to shortstop in the last two games to cover for Jorge Mateo (shoulder/chest), but he'll likely move back to third base full-time once his teammate is ready to play. Urias has hit safely in 11 of 14 games in May, though only two of those have been multi-hit efforts. He's up to a .212/.257/.317 slash line with two homers, nine RBI, eight runs scored and five doubles through 113 plate appearances.

Rafael Devers 3B | SF
Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Three hits, homer
Devers went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run in a 13-4 loss to Houston on Tuesday.
Devers opened the scoring with a solo home run in the first off Houston starter Jose Urquidy, doubled and scored in the third and tacked on a single in the fourth for his second three-hit game in his last three. The 25-year-old has an 11-game hit streak going, during which he's 20-for-45 with nine extra-base hits. Devers is currently fifth in MLB with a .333 average.

Matt Duffy 3B | TEX
Angels' Matt Duffy: Leaves early Tuesday
Duffy was removed from Tuesday's win over the Angels with a facial laceration after colliding with Adolis Garcia during the eighth inning, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Duffy was apparently mostly unaffected from the collision itself, but the ball popped out of his glove and struck him in the face, resulting in the laceration. The 31-year-old appears to have avoided a serious injury and should be considered day-to-day.

Jeimer Candelario 3B | LAA
Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Pops third home run
Candelario went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-1 loss to the Rays.
Candelario hit his third home run of the season in the fifth inning, but as has often been the case this year, the Tigers struggled to get much else going offensively. The third baseman has contributed to those struggles at times with his .203 batting average, but he's at least been better in May with a .254 mark for the month. Candelario hit .271 in 2021 and .297 in 2020, so his track record suggests he'll continue trending upward.

Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN
Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Belts seventh homer Monday
Suarez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run in a loss to the Blue Jays on Monday.
Suarez offered one of the few noteworthy moments for the Mariners' offense Monday, lacing a 382-foot solo shot to left field in the seventh. The slugger's homer marked his first time leaving the yard since May 6, and he's now hit safely in three of his last four games.

Abraham Toro 1B | BOS
Mariners' Abraham Toro: Out of lineup
Toro will sit Tuesday against the Blue Jays.
Toro isn't the Mariners' primary starter at any one position, but he's been in the lineup more often than not, starting 28 of 37 games thus far. He hasn't exactly hit well enough to be a regular, however, slashing .156/.217/.312 on the year, though that line should rise along with his .140 BABIP.

Royce Lewis 3B | MIN
Twins' Royce Lewis: Remains starting shortstop Tuesday
Lewis will start at shortstop and bat seventh in Tuesday's game in Oakland.
Though MLB.com initially reported that Carlos Correa (finger) was on track to make his return from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, the Twins will instead wait at least one more day before adding the star shortstop back to the mix. That clears the way for Lewis to man shortstop for the 11th game in a row, after the star rookie continued to impress in Monday's 3-1 win by reaching base on a double and a walk while coming around to score twice. He's now submitted a .763 OPS over his first 36 big-league plate appearances, giving him a compelling case to stick around with the Twins as a super-utility player once Correa is reinstated.

Taylor Walls 3B | TB
Rays' Taylor Walls: Heads to bench
Walls will not start Tuesday's game against the Tigers, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Walls has been in a slump at the plate recently, grabbing just two hits while striking out 14 times across his last 11 games. Yandy Diaz starts at third base Tuesday.

Gio Urshela 3B | MIN
Twins' Gio Urshela: Day off Tuesday
Urshela will sit Tuesday against Oakland.
Urshela has held onto regular playing time even after the arrival of rookies Jose Miranda and Royce Lewis, but the Twins' infield will get crowded once Carlos Correa (finger) returns from the injured list, which is expected to happen soon. Urshela's .226/.280/.330 slash line doesn't make the best case for an everyday role, but his past track record could still keep him in the lineup on a regular basis until he turns things around at the plate. Miranda will be the one to start at the hot corner Tuesday.
