  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Exits Wednesday's game

Devers exited the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against Toronto with what appeared to be a leg injury, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

Devers was seen rubbing his right hamstring as he pulled into second base. There's been no official reason given for his departure, but more details should emerge shortly. Prior to his exit, Devers had gone 4-for-7 with two doubles and an RBI during the twin bill.

    Twins' Josh Donaldson: Idle Wednesday

Donaldson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.

With the Twins and Tigers playing extra-inning games Monday and Tuesday and both teams facing a quick turnaround for Wednesday's series finale, Donaldson is likely just receiving a maintenance day. Willians Astudillo will cover third base in place of Donaldson.

  • Abraham Toro 1B | BOS

Mariners' Abraham Toro: First Mariner home run

Toro slugged a two-run home run in his only plate appearance during Seattle's 8-6 loss to Houston on Tuesday.

Toro pinch hit for Dylan Moore in the ninth and belted a home run to right off former teammate Ryan Pressly to halve Seattle's deficit, but it proved to be too little too late. Making an early impact with his new team is an encouraging sign, though it's unclear whether Toro will receive steady playing time with Kyle Seager and Ty France presumably ahead of him on the depth chart at third base and first base, respectively.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Indians' Jose Ramirez: Two-run blast in loss

Ramirez went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to St. Louis.

The third baseman accounted for all of Cleveland's run production with his fourth-inning blast off Adam Wainwright. Ramirez has homered twice in his last three games. He's up to 21 long balls, 59 RBI, 65 runs scored and 10 stolen bases while slashing .253/.344/.519 across 369 plate appearances. Ramirez may sit out Wednesday as manager Terry Francona tries to maintain the 28-year-old's lingering elbow soreness.

  • Twins' Willians Astudillo: Records fifth homer

Astudillo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Tuesday against Detroit.

Astudillo took Tyler Alexander yard in the fourth inning to record his fifth home run of the season. Since being recalled from Triple-A St. Paul on July 21, Astudillo has drawn three starts and recorded 12 plate appearances. He's managed only two hits in that span, though both have gone for extra bases. Overall, he's hitting .246/.271/.396 across 140 plate appearances on the season.

  • Royals' Emmanuel Rivera: Begins rehab assignment

Rivera (wrist) reported to Double-A Northwest Arkansas to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Rivera landed on the shelf at the end of June with a left wrist fracture, but he's nearly completed his rehab program. The 25-year-old should require a handful of games in the minors before being activated.

  • Abraham Toro 1B | BOS

Mariners' Abraham Toro: Traded to Mariners

Toro was traded to the Mariners on Tuesday along with relief pitcher Joe Smith in exchange for pitchers Kendall Graveman and Rafael Montero, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Toro's presence on Houston's roster was already becoming less necessary following Aledmys Diaz's return, and with Alex Bregman (hamstring) likely to be activated in the near future, Houston has opted to use the infielder as a trade chip to acquire some much-needed relief help. Toro was reported to be in a Mariners uniform prior to Tuesday's game against the Astros, though it's not yet clear whether he's been added to the club's 26-man roster.

  • Abraham Toro 1B | BOS

Astros' Abraham Toro: Takes seat Tuesday

Toro is not in the starting lineup Tuesday against Seattle, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Toro will yield third-base duties to Aledys Diaz despite homering in each of the past two contests. He could still see the bulk of time at the hot corner during the next few games, but Toro's role is almost certain to diminish once Alex Bregman (quad) is activated at some point in the near future.

  • Abraham Toro 1B | BOS

Astros' Abraham Toro: Slugs another homer

Toro went 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk Monday in the Astros' 11-8 loss to the Mariners.

Kyle Tucker and Toro smacked back-to-back home runs off Darren McCaughan in the first inning to help stake the Astros to an early 7-0 lead, but a furious Mariners rally resulted in Houston dropping the series opener. The long ball was Toro's sixth of the season and second in as many days, but fantasy managers likely won't be able to coax much more value out of him. Alex Bregman (quadriceps) kicked off a rehab assignment Monday at Triple-A Sugar Land and could return from the injured list next week, at which point he would reclaim everyday duties at third base from Toro.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Twins' Josh Donaldson: Belts 16th homer

Donaldson went 2-for-4 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Monday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Tigers.

If the veteran third baseman is on the trade block, he's doing everything he can to enhance his value. Donaldson is slashing .297/.413/.568 over his last 11 games with three of his 16 homers on the year, and with Jose Miranda banging loudly on the door with a 1.051 OPS at Triple-A, the Twins have every incentive to clear space at the hot corner by moving Donaldson.
