Santiago Espinal 3B | CIN
Reds' Santiago Espinal: Getting third straight start
Espinal will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Thursday's game against the Rockies.
Espinal will be rewarded with a third consecutive start after he went 3-for-7 with a walk, two runs and two RBI between the previous two contests. Both of Espinal's last two starts were at second base in place of Jonathan India, who battled knee soreness. The 29-year-old Espinal still appears have a role as a short-side platoon player and occasional fill-in rather than a regular in the Reds lineup.

Eugenio Suarez 3B | SEA
Diamondbacks' Eugenio Suarez: Goes deep in win
Suarez went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, three RBI and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 7-5 win over Atlanta.
Suarez launched a no-doubt, two-run home run to left field in the second inning to tie the game. He later delivered a run with a seventh-inning double. It's a small sample size, but Suarez may be emerging from a season-long slump. He was batting .192 with a .584 OPS as recently as June 23, but the third baseman has posted a .298 average and .942 OPS in the 14 games since, including two home runs and nine RBI over the last four contests.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Homers in day game
Arenado went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 6-4 loss to the Royals in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader.
Arenado opened the scoring in the matinee contest with a second-inning solo shot. The third baseman wasn't as productive in the nightcap, going 0-for-4 to keep his season-long batting average steady at .266. He's added a .697 OPS, eight homers, 38 RBI, 33 runs scored, 14 doubles and one stolen base through 363 plate appearances this season. Arenado is batting .297 (11-for-37) in July, perhaps signaling a turnaround in the second half.

Andruw Monasterio 3B | MIL
Brewers' Andruw Monasterio: Swipes bag in win
Monasterio went 2-for-3 with a walk, one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 9-0 win over the Pirates.
Monasterio has a pair of multi-hit efforts over seven games in July, but he's gone hitless in four other contests this month. The infielder is slashing a meager .200/.286/.267 with one home run, nine RBI, nine runs scored and four stolen bases across 84 plate appearances. While Joey Ortiz (neck) is on the injured list, Monasterio has shared third base with Vinny Capra, though neither player has done much with their extra playing time.

Noelvi Marte 3B | CIN
Reds' Noelvi Marte: Three hits, two runs in loss
Marte went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Rockies.
This was Marte's first multi-hit effort since his season debut June 27. The infielder is batting just .176 with one home run, six RBI, eight runs scored, two doubles and two stolen bases over 54 plate appearances. Marte is likely still working some things out on the fly after opening the year with an 80-game suspension, but he continues to see consistent playing time at third base amid his struggles.

Joseph Ortiz 2B | MIL
Brewers' Joey Ortiz: Beginning assignment Thursday
Ortiz (neck) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Wisconsin on Thursday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Neck inflammation has kept Ortiz on the injured list since July 3, though his neck issues can be traced back to late June. The Brewers haven't officially stated how many games they plan on having the third baseman play in the minors, though the fact he's headed to High-A Wisconsin may indicate the team wants to keep him nearby for activation once he's eligible to return from the IL on Friday.
-
Christopher Morel DH | MIA
Cubs' Christopher Morel: Goes deep in win
Morel went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Orioles.
Morel launched his 16th home run of the season in the second inning against All-Star Corbin Burnes. While the 25-year-old continues to hit for power, he's not doing much else at the plate, as he's batting just .200 on the season. Morel has fantasy upside due to his pop, though fantasy managers will have to endure the low batting average.

Trey Lipscomb 3B | WAS
Nationals' Trey Lipscomb: Exiting starting nine Wednesday
Lipscomb is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.
Following his promotion from Triple-A Rochester on Saturday, Lipscomb started at third base in each of the Nationals' ensuing four games, going 2-for-14 with a run scored. Ildemaro Vargas will fill in for him Wednesday, but Lipscomb should see the bulk of the starts at the hot corner moving forward after the Nationals recently designated Nick Senzel for assignment.

Cavan Biggio RF | KC
Dodgers' Cavan Biggio: Homers Tuesday
Biggio went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 10-1 loss to the Phillies.
Biggio provided the Dodgers' lone run in the lopsided defeat with a solo shot off Zack Wheeler in the fifth inning. It's Biggio's first homer since joining Los Angeles on June 12. He had gone just 1-for-13 in his previous seven contests. Overall, Biggio's slashing an uninspiring .197/.314/.286 with three homers, 11 RBI, 20 runs scored and two steals across 172 plate appearances between the Dodgers and Blue Jays this year.

Ildemaro Vargas 2B | ARI
Nationals' Ildemaro Vargas: Swats first homer of year
Vargas went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Mets.
The veteran utility player began the game on the bench, but he pinch hit for Trey Lipscomb in the eighth inning and took Adam Ottavino deep -- Vargas' first long ball of the season. After a hot start to the season, Vargas is batting just .135 (5-for-37) over his last 15 appearances, and his playing time has dwindled.
