Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Swipes bag in loss

Arenado went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 2-0 loss to the Brewers.

After walking in the first inning, Arenado stole second base for his second steal of the season. He did not provide any additional offense and the Cardinals were shut out. It was the first time he failed to record an RBI or score a run in his last nine games. The 30-year-old is slashing .264/.324/.511 and leads the team with 25 home runs and 78 RBI in 485 plate appearances.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Smacks 26th homer

Riley went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Tuesday against the Marlins.

Riley provided Atlanta with an insurance run in the ninth inning, slugging his 26th homer of the season. He's in the midst of another power surge, as he's now gone yard three times in his last five games. He's collected at least one hit in four of those games, including two-multi hit efforts. For the season, Riley has 73 RBI and 68 runs scored to go along with a .294/.371/.531 line across 493 plate appearances.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Receives breather Tuesday

Muncy is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Pirates, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Muncy is 6-for-15 with three homers, a double, five RBI and six runs over his past four games, but he'll take a seat Tuesday after starting the last 12 contests. Matt Beaty will cover first base in his place versus the Buccos.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Connects on another homer

Muncy went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, walk and hit-by-pitch in a 2-1 win against the Pirates on Monday.

Muncy represented three of Los Angeles' nine baserunners, walking in the fourth, getting hit in the sixth, and launching the go-ahead home run in the eighth. The slugging infielder now has four long balls in his last seven games after going 13 games without leaving the yard.

  • Matt Duffy 3B | TEX

Cubs' Matt Duffy: Tallies two hits Monday

Duffy went 2-for-5 with a run scored in Monday's loss to the Reds.

Duffy moved up to the leadoff spot after batting cleanup Sunday, and he continued his steady production at the plate lately, as he's now batting 11-for-33 over his last 10 games. The 30-year-old should keep getting regular playing time with the likes of Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo and Javier Baez no longer filling the Chicago infield.

  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Reds' Nick Senzel: Still favoring knee

Senzel is still favoring his left knee some when he hits, Triple-A Louisville manager Pat Kelly told C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic. He'll continue to play all over the diamond at Louisville.

Kelly spoke about the Reds' decision to option Senzel upon activating him from the IL. "Obviously it's very disappointing and not what he was expecting, not what he was wanting. But I think he recognizes that there's still some things that he needs to do," Kelly said Sunday. "Just watching him play, for me, he's not 100 percent. You can see still a slight favor to the knee. For me, the key is in hitting, you have to be able to hit against a firm front side."

  • Kevin Newman 3B | LAA

Pirates' Kevin Newman: Not in Monday's lineup

Newman isn't in the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.

Newman will get a breather after he went 8-for-14 with six doubles, five runs and two RBI across the last four games. Hoy Park will start at shortstop and lead off.

  • Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW

Reds' Mike Moustakas: On bench against lefty

Moustakas will sit against southpaw Justin Steele and the Cubs on Monday.

Moustakas has now been on the bench six times in 11 games since he returned from a heel injury in early August, though all but one of his days off have come against lefties. Eugenio Suarez will start at third base in his absence.

  • Rodolfo Castro 2B | PHI

Pirates' Rodolfo Castro: Rough go Sunday

Castro went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Brewers.

The infielder is 6-for-36 with one double and 2:15 BB:K since Aug. 3. Castro remains one of the team's decent long-term prospects, but there's a chance he could see time back in Indianapolis, considering he skipped Triple-A. The 22-year-old also made his third error Sunday on a play that led to Milwaukee's first run.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Homers twice Sunday

Muncy went 2-for-4 with a pair of two-run home runs, a walk and an additional run scored in Sunday's 14-4 win over the Mets.

On the season, he is slashing .272/.402/.550 with a team-leading 25 long balls, 69 RBI and 71 runs scored in 425 plate appearances.
