Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Giants' Evan Longoria: Out of Tuesday's lineup
Longoria is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Rockies, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
The 35-year-old missed the previous three games with left hamstring tightness before rejoining the lineup Monday and going 2-for-2 with a double, three RBI and a run, but he'll return to the bench Tuesday. There's been no indication Longoria aggravated the injury, so the Giants may just be exercising caution after the veteran's return to action. Jason Vosler will start at the hot corner and bat eighth in his place for San Francisco.

Rodolfo Castro 2B | PHI
Pirates' Rodolfo Castro: Sent to minors
The Pirates optioned Castro to their alternate training site Tuesday.
The 21-year-old infielder appeared in one game during his first cup of coffee in the majors, going 0-for-3 in an April 21 loss to the Tigers. He'll likely report to Triple-A Indianapolis or Double-A Altoona when the minor-league season begins next week, and he'll likely remain on the farm for much of the 2021 campaign unless the Pirates' infield depth is tested.

Giants' Evan Longoria: Plates three in return to lineup
Longoria went 2-for-2 with a double, three RBI and a run scored in Monday's 12-0 blowout victory over the Rockies.
Longoria made his return to the lineup after missing the prior three games with a tight left hamstring, and he picked up right where he left off. The 35-year-old singled home a run before later scoring himself during a four-run first inning, then came back the following frame to plate two more on a double to deep left field. He was then replaced on base by Jason Vosler as a precautionary measure to get him some added rest. Longoria has been excellent so far with a slash line of .316/.409/.614 over 57 at-bats. He's on pace for the best statistical season of his career while ranking among the MLB leaders in barrel rate, exit velocity and a number of other Statcast categories. Of course, it's questionable whether he'll be able to keep it up, as Longoria has finished with an OPS around .700 in each of the last four seasons.

Brian Anderson RF | ATL
Marlins' Brian Anderson: Resumes baseball activities
Anderson (oblique) resumed light baseball activities Monday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Anderson will be eligible to return from the injured list Saturday. The Marlins have yet to confirm that he's expected to do so, but he's progressing well and isn't expected to miss too much time.

Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Giants' Evan Longoria: Back in lineup
Longoria (hamstring) will bat cleanup and play third base Monday against the Rockies, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Longoria left Thursday's game against the Marlins with a tight left hamstring and didn't play a role in any of the next three contests. He's back in action Monday and will look to build on his strong .291/.391/.582 slash line.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Swipes another bag
Machado went 2-for-6 with an RBI, a run and a stolen base in Sunday's victory over the Dodgers.
Machado played a big part in the Padres' late-innings rally, singling home the tying run in the ninth inning. He subsequently stole his fifth base of the campaign. That number already matches the amount of stolen bases Machado logged in 2019 and is one short of the six bags he stole in 2020. In addition to the steals, Machado has also slugged three home runs and driven in 10 runs while slashing .253/.359/.379.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Draws five walks in loss
Muncy went 0-for-1 with five walks and two runs Sunday in the Dodgers' 8-7 loss to the Padres in 11 innings.
Muncy has now produced only one hit in 20 at-bats over his last seven games, but thanks to a massive 27.6 percent walk rate, he's reaching base at a solid .345 clip during that span. Unfortunately, that comes as little solace to fantasy managers that roster Muncy in leagues where batting average is a category, but his steady eye at the plate could at least portend better production to come. On the season, Muncy maintains a magnificent 21:16 BB:K.

Jason Vosler 3B | SEA
Giants' Jason Vosler: Steals base in win
Vosler went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Marlins.
Vosler entered the game to begin the third inning after Wilmer Flores had to leave early because he was feeling under the weather. The 27-year-old had just been recalled to the Giants on Saturday and was able to notch his first career hit and a stolen base in Sunday's winning effort. Vosler's time on the big-league roster will likely depend on the health of other players, as Evan Longoria (hamstring) and Brandon Crawford (quadriceps) are day-to-day while Donovan Solano (calf) was put on the 10-day injured list earlier in the week.

Eduardo Escobar 3B | TOR
Diamondbacks' Eduardo Escobar: Homers in Game 2 of doubleheader
Escobar went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the 7-0 win Sunday against the Braves.
Escobar homered in the third inning off Drew Smyly in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader. He also provided a hit and an RBI in Game 1. Sunday marked his seventh home run, tying him for first in the majors. The 32-year-old is slashing .241/.312/.542 with 14 RBI and 15 runs scored.

J.D. Davis 1B | LAA
Mets' J.D. Davis: Socks two-run shot
Davis went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Sunday's win over the Nationals.
Davis launched his second homer of the season and continues to see the ball well, as he has hit safely in all but two of his games this season. He's hitting .414 with a 1.175 OPS thus far.
