  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Reds' Nick Senzel: Not in Saturday's lineup

Senzel isn't starting Saturday's game against the Cardinals, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Senzel will get a breather after he went 4-for-11 with a double, one walk and a strikeout over the last three games. Tyler Naquin will take over in center field Saturday, batting fifth.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Launches second homer

Riley went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Friday's 5-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

He got Atlanta on the board by taking Luke Weaver deep in the second inning. Riley has been very streaky in his brief career and it looks like he's about to go on a tear, as he's homered in consecutive games -- his only two HR of the year so far -- while reaching base in six straight, going 6-for-13 with an extremely impressive 7:2 BB:K over that stretch.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Not starting Friday

Longoria (hamstring) isn't starting Friday's game against the Marlins, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Longoria exited Thursday's game against Miami due to left hamstring tightness. However, manager Gabe Kapler said that Longoria could be available off the bench Friday if he feels good during the game, Pavlovic reports. Wilmer Flores will start at third base Friday, batting third.

  • Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW

Reds' Mike Moustakas: Feeling better Friday

Moustakas (illness) is feeling better Friday and is expected to ramp up his activity over the weekend, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Moustakas was placed on the 10-day injured list due to a non-COVID illness Tuesday, but the issue doesn't appear to be a major concern. If he continues to feel good after participating in baseball activities this weekend, manager David Bell said that Moustakas should return sometime during the Reds' upcoming series against the Dodgers.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Brewers' Jace Peterson: Out with thumb injury

Peterson was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left thumb injury Friday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Peterson had previously dealt with a thumb issue throughout March, though he was able to make the Opening Day roster. He's performed well enough in a part-time role, posting a .779 OPS and homering twice in 28 trips to the plate. Kolten Wong (oblique) returned from the injured list in a corresponding move.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Dealing with hamstring issue

Longoria exited Thursday's game against the Marlins with a tight left hamstring, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Longoria was pulled from the game in the fifth inning, though the severity of the injury is not yet known. Wilmer Flores shifted from first to third base, and he would likely remain a fixture in the lineup if Longoria is out for an extended amount of time.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Forced from Thursday's contest

Longoria exited Thursday's contest in the fifth inning, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

There was no immediate reason given for Longoria's exit, though he dealt with plantar fasciitis during spring training. The Giants are already missing Brandon Belt (quadriceps), Donovan Solano (calf) and Brandon Crawford (side) from their infield, so they'll be in a difficult position if Longoria is forced to miss additional time.

  • Brian Anderson RF | ATL

Marlins' Brian Anderson: Heading to injured list

Anderson will be placed on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain Thursday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Anderson was held out of Wednesday's lineup with side soreness, and his condition reportedly did not improve as expected Thursday. As a result, he'll be placed on the 10-day injured list. Jon Berti should pick up playing time at third base in Anderson's absence.

  • Nick Maton DH | CHW

Phillies' Nick Maton: Could factor in at second base

Phillies manager Joe Girardi named Maton and Brad Miller as the most likely candidates to pick up starts at second base following Jean Segura's (quadriceps) placement on the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Maton filled in at shortstop for Didi Gregorius (elbow) in each of the Phillies' last three games, going 5-for-12 with a double and an RBI. Though Girardi believes Gregorius will be ready to go for Friday's game in Colorado, Segura's absence should free up more reps in the middle infield. Considering that both Maton and Miller are left-handed hitters, a platoon between the two won't be an option, so a timeshare could be in place until one player separates himself from the other while Segura is out.

  • Brian Anderson RF | ATL

Marlins' Brian Anderson: Out of Thursday's lineup

Anderson is not in Thursday's lineup and may also miss Friday's game with soreness on his left side, Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com reports.

Anderson was held out of Wednesday's lineup with what appeared to be a minor injury, though it now seems as though his absence will extend for another few days. Jon Berti is likely to gain playing time at third base in Anderson's absence.
