Rodolfo Castro 2B | PHI
Pirates' Rodolfo Castro: Recalled by Pirates
Castro was recalled by the Pirates on Wednesday.
Castro was sent down by the Pirates in mid-March and hasn't yet played above High-A. However, he'll join the major-league roster after Anthony Alford was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Castro hit .136 with two home runs and six RBI this spring and should mainly serve in a depth role for the Pirates.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Phillies' Jean Segura: Lands on injured list
Segura was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to a right quadriceps strain, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Segura exited Tuesday's game against San Francisco due to the injury and underwent an MRI on Wednesday. The 31-year-old will be eligible to return from the injured list as early as May 1, but it's not clear whether he'll be healthy enough to do so. Brad Miller will start at second base against the Giants on Wednesday, while Scott Kingery was recalled in a corresponding move.

Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Giants' Evan Longoria: Getting Wednesday off
Giants manager Gabe Kapler said Longoria would be rested for Wednesday's game in Philadelphia, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
San Francisco is closing out its series in Philadelphia with a day game, so the 35-year-old Longoria will just be getting some routine maintenance. He provided a pair of doubles and scored twice across his nine at-bats over the first two games of the series.

Brian Anderson RF | ATL
Marlins' Brian Anderson: Takes seat Wednesday
Anderson isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Anderson has hit just .120 with a double, one RBI and eight strikeouts in his last six games. Jon Berti will take his place at third base Wednesday, batting seventh.

Jace Peterson SS | ARI
Brewers' Jace Peterson: Cranks first homer
Peterson went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-0 win over the Padres.
Peterson entered in the seventh inning to pinch hit for Corbin Burnes, but he stayed in the game at second base. His second plate appearance led to his first home run of the season, which came off Craig Stammen in the ninth inning. Peterson is getting more playing time with Kolten Wong (oblique) on the 10-day injured list, but he usually comes off the bench. He only has three hits and three walks in 24 plate appearances.

J.D. Davis 1B | LAA
Mets' J.D. Davis: Swats first homer
Davis went 2-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run Tuesday against the Cubs.
An early trip to the injured list has caused a slow start to the season for Davis. However, he showed signs of getting on track Tuesday, taking Jake Arrieta deep for his first homer of the season, which accounted for the Mets' only run of the game.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Phillies' Jean Segura: Removed with quad strain
Segura exited Tuesday's game against the Giants with a strained right quadriceps, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
The 31-year-old was pulled from Tuesday's contest after receiving a visit from the athletic trainer following his groundout to close the third inning. According to Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Segura will undergo an MRI on Wednesday to determine the severity of the injury, so he'll likely be unavailable for the series finale versus the Giants.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Reds' Mike Moustakas: Lands on 10-day injured list
Moustakas was placed on the 10-day injured list with a non-COVID illness Tuesday.
Moustakas had been out of action since Wednesday with the issue, though he was initially listed as part of the Reds' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks. The Reds can backdate the transaction by three days, but he'll still be out until at least next Tuesday. Alex Blandino will replace him on the active roster, though it's Kyle Farmer who will replace him in Tuesday's lineup.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Heads to bench
Machado is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Brewers.
Machado was banged up with back and shoulder issues late last week but was never forced to miss any time. It's unclear whether Tuesday's off day is a routine one or if it's related to his minor injuries. Ha-Seong Kim will start at third base in his absence.

Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL
Reds' Kyle Farmer: Returns to bench
Farmer is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Farmer had started at third base in place of Mike Moustakas (illness) in each of the last three games, going 1-for-6 with three walks and a run scored during that time. Moustakas is healthy again following Monday's off day, so Farmer will move back into a bench role for Cincinnati.
