Muncy is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Muncy battled a sprained ankle over the weekend, but he returned to the lineup for Tuesday's 5-3 win and went 2-for-5 with an RBI. While Muncy didn't experience a setback during the contest, manager Dave Roberts noted that he planned to give the veteran a maintenance day Wednesday. Muncy will presumably check back into the starting nine for Thursday's series finale.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts indicated Tuesday that Muncy will be given the day off Wednesday, per Dodger Insider.

After being limited to one pinch-hit opportunity over the weekend due to a sprained right ankle, Muncy was inserted back into the lineup Tuesday and made his mark with a pair of singles, including a fifth-inning base knock that plated Mookie Betts. There is no indication that Muncy aggravated the injury in the win, so the decision to keep him out of action Wednesday is likely precautionary as the veteran isn't yet entirely free of pain in the ankle.

Riley went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and an RBI double during Tuesday's 9-5 win over the Phillies.

The 24-year-old opened the scoring Tuesday with an RBI double during the first inning, and he also knotted the game at 5-5 with a solo shot in the eighth. Riley has a .352/.419/.703 slash line with eight home runs, eight doubles, 20 RBI and 16 runs in his past 25 games.

Wisdom went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 7-1 win over the Padres on Tuesday.

Wisdom welcomed San Diego reliever Miguel Diaz to the game in the sixth with a two-run home run to extend Chicago's lead to 5-0. The long ball has become a regular occurrence for the late-blooming third baseman, who now has eight on the season and four in his past four games. Even when he cools off, look for Wisdom to remain in the lineup as Chicago is 9-5 in the 14 games Wisdom has appeared since being recalled May 25.

The Brewers recalled Peterson from Triple-A Nashville prior to Tuesday's game against the Reds.

Peterson was designated for assignment May 24 after he finished his rehab assignment for an injured thumb, and he was ultimately outrighted to Triple-A on May 26. He'll now return to the Brewers, where he'll look to improve upon the .208/.321/.458 slash line that he posted in 28 major-league plate appearances during April. Peterson will take the roster spot of Keston Hiura, who was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Monday.

Anderson (shoulder) is moving well and preparing to start a hitting progression, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

The 28-year-old likely remains at least a couple weeks from returning as he recovers from a left shoulder subluxation. It's unclear whether Anderson will require a minor-league rehab assignment before being activated, but the Marlins eagerly await the return of his bat to their struggling lineup.

Muncy (ankle) is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Muncy injured his ankle while running to first base during Friday's game against Atlanta. The injury forced him out of the lineup Saturday and Sunday, though he did get an at-bat as a pinch hitter during the series finale. Per Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register, manager Dave Roberts said Muncy's lateral mobility is still a bit hindered by the ankle issue, so he will not be an option to play second base during the series in Pittsburgh. Nonetheless, the slugger will return to the lineup Tuesday at first base.

Machado went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in Monday's 9-4 win over the Cubs.

The 28-year-old plated his first two runs of the night on a pair of sacrifice flies before taking reliever Cory Abbott deep for a solo blast in the eighth inning. Having now left the yard twice in his last three starts, Machado is up to eight home runs on the season, good for sole possession of second place on the Padres behind standout shortstop Fernando Tatis (17).

Muncy (ankle) was used as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning Sunday and flied out to right field in his only at-bat.

Muncy came on to hit for Trevor Bauer with a pair of runners on base and two outs in a two-run game but couldn't produce a clutch hit. He remains day-to-day for a return to playing the field and rejoining the starting lineup after mildly spraining his right ankle Friday. The Dodgers are off Monday, so Muncy's next chance to start will come Tuesday in Pittsburgh.

Hayes went 2-for-4 in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Marlins on Sunday.

He's 7-for-18 with a double, triple and homer in four games since returning from a wrist injury. Hayes missed two months with the injury and suffered a similar injury two years ago, according to Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic. Medical director Todd Tomczyk believes Hayes is past the wrist problems. "We did identify certain things that potentially could have led to the recurrent issue," Tomczyk said. "But based on that (the first injury) is two years removed and (Hayes) did have a full body of work last year, we're optimistic that this specific incur to his left wrist will not happen again."
