Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Phillies' Jean Segura: Good to go Thursday
Segura (heel) will start at shortstop and bat second Thursday against the Dodgers, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Segura returns to the starting nine after spending the past two games on the bench while he managed a bruised left heel. The Phillies' decision to deploy Segura in a pinch-hitting role in Wednesday's loss hinted that the organization never viewed his heel issue as a major concern.

Austin Riley 3B | ATL
Braves' Austin Riley: Bat going cold
Riley went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in Wednesday's loss to the Brewers.
The rookie is now hitting .159 (7-for-44) through 12 games in July with a rough 4:19 BB:K, although he's still supplied some pop with two homers and six RBI. Riley is picking a bad time to slump with Ender Inciarte (back) about to come off the IL, but it remains to be seen how Atlanta will handle the upcoming competition for at-bats in the outfield.

Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL
Braves' Josh Donaldson: Carries offense in loss
Donaldson went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run and four RBI in Wednesday's loss to the Brewers.
The veteran third baseman was a one-man rally for Atlanta, slugging a two-run homer in the eighth inning and smacking a bases-loaded single in the ninth, but unfortunately none of his teammates could come up with a clutch hit of their own in a 5-4 loss. Donaldson has rebounded in strong fashion from his injury-plagued 2018, slashing .255/.368/.520 on the year with 22 home runs and 55 RBI in 93 games.
-
Eduardo Escobar 3B | TOR
Diamondbacks' Eduardo Escobar: Blasts two home runs
Escobar went 2-for-7 with two home runs and five RBI in a 19-4 win over the Rangers on Wednesday.
Escobar started the game off with a two-run home run in the first inning and added a three-run shot in the sixth inning. The switch-hitter took the Rangers deep from both sides of the plate and continues to mash lefties with a 1.106 OPS. Escobar has a .290/.344/.546 slash line with 21 home runs on the season.

Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY
Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Hits ninth homer
McMahon went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and two runs scored overall in Wednesday's 11-8 loss to the Giants.
McMahon provided a two-run homer during the fourth inning to give the Rockies a 4-3 lead, but both teams continued the offensive barrage into the late innings. The 24-year-old has come alive in July with a .350/.381/.650 slash line and seven extra-base hits in 12 games.

Nick Senzel 3B | LAD
Reds' Nick Senzel: Downplays injury
Senzel (hamstring) thinks he'll be ready to go for Thursday's series opener against the Cardinals, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
Senzel exited Wednesday's game against the Cubs with an apparent hamstring injury, though the youngster didn't seem overly concerned about the issue. He should be considered day-to-day ahead of Thursday's series opener.

Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL
Reds' Kyle Farmer: Possibly dealing with concussion
Farmer will be re-evaluated for a concussion, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
This helps explain why Farmer was removed from Wednesday's lineup. With Curt Casali (knee) and Tucker Barnhart (oblique) also both on the mend, look for Juan Graterol to serve as Cincinnati's primary backstop for the time being.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Phillies' Jean Segura: Out again Wednesday
Segura (heel) is not starting Wednesday against the Dodgers.
Segura is set to miss a second straight game as he continues to nurse a left heel injury that he picked up in Monday's series opener. His absence is considered precautionary, and he'll be available off the bench, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Scott Kingery is once again starting at shortstop in his absence, with Adam Haseley getting the nod in center field.

Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL
Reds' Kyle Farmer: Removed from lineup
Farmer is situated on the bench Wednesday against the Cubs, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Farmer was originally tabbed to start before being removed from the lineup in favor of Juan Graterol, who had his contract selected from Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday. In 122 plate appearances this season, Farmer is slashing .237/.279/.430 with six home runs and four stolen bases.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Brewers' Mike Moustakas: Gets day off
Moustakas is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Braves.
Moustakas will take a seat for Wednesday's series finale following a string of 22 consecutive starts. The infielder has collected a hit in all five games since the All-Star break, going 8-for-25 (.320) with three doubles, two RBI and five runs scored over that stretch. Tyler Saladino gets the start at third base in place of Moustakas on Wednesday.
