  • Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW

Brewers' Mike Moustakas: Two more hits

Moustakas went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI in Tuesday's victory over the Braves.

Moustakas has at least one hit in every game since the All-Star break, which has helped raise his batting average back up to .267. Moustakas has been in the lineup for every game in July, and he's hit lower than fourth in the order just once all month.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Goes yard again

Suarez went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Cubs.

His first-inning shot was part of a three-run frame for the Reds, but the team's offense went cold the rest of the night. Suarez has now gone yard in back-to-back games and three of five since the All-Star break, giving him 23 homers and 58 RBI through 92 contests to go with a .246/.324/.500 slash line.

  • Diamondbacks' Ildemaro Vargas: Swats fifth homer

Vargas went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 9-2 win over the Rangers.

The 28-year-old infielder has been seeing sporadic playing time and hadn't homered in over a month, but Vargas took advantage of his opportunity in Texas. He now sports a .674 OPS with five homers, 20 RBI and 22 runs in 64 games, and he'll face additional competition for at-bats once Wilmer Flores (foot) rejoins the roster.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Smacks two doubles

Rendon went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run scored and two RBI in Tuesday's 8-1 win over the Orioles. He was also hit by a pitch.

Rendon continued his hit barrage to start the second half and is 7-for-15 with three doubles and three walks through four contests. The 29-year-old has a .312/.397/.614 slash line with 25 doubles, 20 home runs and 64 RBI this season.

  • Brian Anderson RF | ATL

Marlins' Brian Anderson: Delivers three-run homer

Anderson went 1-for-4 with a walk, a three-run home run and two runs scored Tuesday against the Padres.

Anderson got the Marlins' offense started Tuesday night, slugging his 13th home run of the season in the first inning. He had struggled for much of July prior to this performance, entering the night with just two hits in 17 at-bats. He now owns a .248/.333/.431 line across 371 plate appearances for the season.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Hopes to return in two weeks

Longoria (foot) hopes to return to action in two weeks, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Longoria landed on the 10-day injured list with plantar fasciitis Monday, and reports that day indicated that he'd be out for more than the minimum 10 days. The third baseman sounds optimistic that he won't miss too much longer than the minimum, though he also gave one month as the long end of his expected timeline, so there's not a ton of clarity at the moment. He'll visit a specialist when the Giants return home on Thursday, at which point a clearer timetable could emerge.

  • Edmundo Sosa 2B | PHI

Cardinals' Edmundo Sosa: Called up by Cardinals

Sosa was recalled by the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Sosa will likely fill a bench role with Matt Carpenter (foot) heading to the injured list and Tommy Edman likely ticketed for Carpenter's spot at third base. Sosa received three big-league plate appearances last season but has spent all of this year with Triple-A Memphis, where he's recorded an unimpressive .252/.304/.424 slash line, good for just a 73 wRC+.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Phillies' Jean Segura: Absent from Tuesday's lineup

Segura (heel) is not starting Tuesday against the Dodgers, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Segura left Monday's game in the ninth inning with a left heel injury, and the issue is apparently bad enough for him to sit for at least one game. Scott Kingery moves in to shortstop in his absence, with Adam Haseley starting in center field.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Hits another homer

Muncy went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs in a 16-2 victory against the Phillies on Monday.

Cody Bellinger and Muncy went deep in back-to-back at-bats during the seventh, which increased the Dodgers' lead to eight. Muncy has been on a power tear lately, as he has four homers in his last eight games. He is batting .267 with 24 home runs, 64 RBI, 60 runs and three steals in 322 at-bats this season.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Phillies' Jean Segura: Suffers heel injury

Segura suffered a left heel injury during the ninth inning of Monday night's game against the Dodgers, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Segura doesn't believe the injury to be serious, but he did receive treatment after the contest and will be considered day-to-day moving forward.
