Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Three hits in Friday's loss

Rendon went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Blue Jays.

The third baseman snapped an 0-for-10 mini-slump over his prior three games with the performance. In fact, aside from a four-hit game June 6, Rendon's had a sluggish month so far, slashing .233/.277/.302 in June with seven RBI and seven runs in 11 games. As long as he's hitting cleanup in a strong Nats batting order, he should remain fairly productive even if the hits aren't falling in consistently.

  • Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL

Dodgers' Kyle Farmer: Recalled from Triple-A

Farmer was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times

Farmer had a rough 30-game stint with the Dodgers earlier in the season in which he recorded a .230/.304/.279 batting line in 69 plate appearances. He has five doubles and three homers in 22 games for Triple-A Oklahoma City, but don't expect Farmer to get much run barring an injury to Dodgers catchers Yasmani Grandal or Austin Barnes.

  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Reds' Nick Senzel: Promotion not imminent

The Reds don't appear to be close to calling up Senzel despite his recent tear at the plate at Triple-A Louisville, MLB.com's Mark Sheldon reports. "We just want to make sure he has a place to play," Reds general manager Nick Krall said on Friday. "He's been progressing well, and he's making good contact. We feel he's played well in Triple-A, especially since he's come back from the injury the past two weeks."

Unless the Reds give up on Jose Peraza, which seems unlikely, or trade Scooter Gennett, there isn't an obvious place to play Senzel. He's not going to displace Eugenio Suarez or Gennett directly in the lineup, and he hasn't been playing outfield in the minors, so a move out there isn't in the works. Gennett can play the outfield, but he also has a bad shoulder which prevents him from making longer throws. At some point if Senzel keeps hitting as he has been, he'll force the issue, but for now, fantasy GMs with shares in the top prospect will have to be patient.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: To see Dr. Steven Shin

Longoria (hand) will see Dr. Steven Shin for an evaluation of his fractured hand Saturday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

The Giants and Longoria will be hoping that Dr. Shin doesn't recommend surgery, in which case a return within six weeks may be a possibility. If surgery is required, though, Longoria may miss upwards of two months, which would push his return date deep into August. Either way, expect Longoria to be officially placed on the 10-day disabled list soon.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Hits first major-league homer Thursday

McMahon went 1-for-3 with a solo home run Thursday in the Rockies' loss to the Phillies.

McMahon's first blast in 108 major-league at-bats -- yes, you read that correctly -- hit the bushes over the center field wall of Citizens Bank Park. In portions of two seasons, McMahon has not offered the type of power expected of his pedigree, partly because of inconsistent playing time, but maybe his short-term ceiling for homers was widely overestimated. He manned third base in place of a resting Nolan Arenado, and he'll find trouble seeing more than a few days' work per week when the Rockies' lineup is healthy and active. He's most logically considered an NL-only asset in redraft leagues but could be rostered as a bench stash in deeper mixed setups for the chance that more playing time opens up.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Suffers hand fracture

Longoria sustained a fractured fifth metacarpal of his left hand during Thursday's game against Miami, Kerry Crowley of the Bay Area News Group reports.

The Giants have yet to release a timetable for Longoria's injury, but it's expected that the third baseman will miss approximately six weeks, which was a similar timeframe to that of Josh Harrison and Madison Bumgarner, who each suffered the same injury earlier this season. Longoria was removed from Thursday's contest a short time after getting struck by a pitch in the fourth inning. Going off the six-week timeline, Longoria will likely be sidelined until late July or early August, though a better gauge of his eventual return will come into focus in the coming weeks. In his absence, look for Pablo Sandoval to remain a frequent contributor even with the return of Brandon Belt (abdomen) on the horizon. Alen Hanson could also see an uptick in playing time.

Giants' Evan Longoria: Exits with apparent hand injury

Longoria was removed from Thursday's game with an apparent left hand injury, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Longoria was initially able to stay in the game after taking a pitch off his left hand in top of the fourth inning, but he was ultimately replaced by Alen Hanson before the bottom half of the frame. Specifics regarding the injury remain unclear at this point, though more should be known after he's further evaluated following the conclusion of Thursday's series finale. Longoria struck out in his only other at-bat prior to exiting.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Heads to bench Thursday

Arenado is not in the lineup against Philadelphia on Thursday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Arenado will receive a standard, albeit rare, day off as the Rockies host the Phillies during a matinee contest before heading off to Arlington to begin a three-game set against Texas on Friday. In his place, Ryan McMahon will start at third base and bat seventh in the order.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Heads to bench Wednesday

Muncy is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Muncy has homered in four straight games and owns an impressive .277/.395/.631 line on the year, but he'll head to the bench Wednesday with a left-hander in Cole Hamels toeing the rubber for the opposition. Cody Bellinger is starting at first base in his stead, allowing Enrique Hernandez to pick up a start in center field.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Smacks homer No. 13

Muncy went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's win over the Rangers.

Make it four straight games with a home run, as he took starter Bartolo Colon deep for a solo shot in the third inning. The 27-year-old has cranked 13 home runs in just 130 at-bats and figures to continue being a solid source of run production in a suddenly awakened Dodgers lineup.
