Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Heads to bench for finale

LeMahieu is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Making his return from the disabled list, LeMahieu went 1-for-4 with an RBI on Tuesday in the first game of the two-game interleague series. It seems the Rockies are just being cautious with LeMahieu, sitting him for Wednesday's afternoon game as to not risk aggravation of the hamstring injury. Daniel Castro gets the start at second base.

  • Brian Anderson RF | ATL

Marlins' Brian Anderson: Slaps double Tuesday

Anderson went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Tuesday's loss to the Cubs.

It was Anderson's second extra-base hit in as many games, and he's now hitting .345 (10-for-29) over his last eight games. With the latest hot stretch, the 24-year-old is slashing .268/.367/.378 to go along with 18 RBI.

Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Activated from disabled list

LeMahieu (hamstring) was activated from the disabled list and is starting at second base and hitting leadoff Tuesday against the Angels, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

As planned, LeMahieu will return to action Tuesday night. In a corresponding move, Pat Valaika was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Expected to return Tuesday

LeMahieu (hamstring) is expected to return from the disabled list prior to Tuesday's game against the Angels, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

There had been some uncertainty as to whether LeMahieu would be ready to return after missing the minimum 10 days, but it appears that will indeed be the case. He's expected to rejoin Colorado's lineup Tuesday, at which point he'll look to continue his strong start to the season. Before landing on the disabled list, LeMahieu had hit .290/.367/.505 with five home runs over 27 games.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Smacks two doubles Monday

Rendon went 2-for-4 with a walk, two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI in Monday's win over the Padres.

With Bryce Harper getting a day off, Rendon moved up to hit third Monday and had his first multi-hit performance since coming off the disabled list. The 27-year-old has quickly shaken off any rust from his toe injury, and he seems headed for a very productive summer.

  • Yadiel Rivera 3B | MIL

Marlins' Yadiel Rivera: Struggles on defense in Sunday's start

Rivera went 1-for-3 with two walks in Sunday's win over the Reds, but he also committed his first two errors of the season.

The 26-year-old has seen little action this season behind Miguel Rojas at shortstop, and Rivera's anemic .148/.258/.148 slash line in 31 plate appearances and unreliable defense aren't doing anything to change that. Expect him to be replaced on the roster by JT Riddle as soon as the Marlins are confident Riddle is fully recovered from his shoulder injury.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Drives in two Sunday

Rendon went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Sunday's win over the Phillies.

His bases-loaded single to left in the eighth inning was one of the key hits in the Nats' come-from-behind victory, and was also his first hit since coming off the disabled list Saturday. Rendon now sports a .274/.357/.387 slash line through 16 games this season, but expect his power numbers to rise quickly once he's back in rhythm at the plate.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Earns promotion to Triple-A

Riley was promoted from Double-A Mississippi to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday, David O'Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The 21-year-old earned the callup by torching Southern League pitching to the tune of a .333/.394/.677 line across 109 plate appearances. Thanks to his plus power and strong plate discipline, Riley looks like he could be Atlanta's long-term answer at third base, but he may need to keep raking at Triple-A to force his way into the big-league lineup on a full-time basis in 2018. Jose Bautista, who signed a minor-league pact with Atlanta in mid-April, has since joined the big club and should be an adequate option at the hot corner until the Braves deem Riley ready to take over.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Cedes start to Farmer

Muncy is out of the lineup Sunday against the Padres, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

With lefty Eric Lauer on the hill for San Diego, Muncy will give way to platoon mate Kyle Farmer at third base. While the lefty-hitting Muncy should benefit from the larger share of starts at the position until Justin Turner (wrists) returns from the disabled list, the 27-year-old doesn't offer much fantasy appeal due to a dearth of power and a high strikeout rate that may continue to suppress his batting average.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Still targeting Tuesday activation

LeMahieu told Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post that he'll be ready to come off the disabled list when first eligible Tuesday.

It was reported Saturday that manager Bud Black suspected LeMahieu would need a few more days, but if it were up to the infielder, he'd be back the moment he's eligible. While the exact date remains up in the air, look for LeMahieu to return at some point this week following the team's off-day Monday.
