Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Hitting for better power

Hayes went 4-for-6 with a homer and five RBI Monday. He also drew a pair of walks.

The third baseman is batting .415 in 41 at-bats and already has six extra-base hits (five doubles, one homer). He totaled six extra-base hits in 185 at-bats last year in his first pro season.

  • Matt Duffy 3B | TEX

Giants' Matt Duffy: Out of lineup Monday

Duffy is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Diamondbacks, Amy Gutierrez of CSN Bay Area reports.

Duffy will receive his first respite of the season, yielding third base to Kelby Tomlinson. When he returns to action Tuesday, Duffy will hope that the day off aids in elevating him above the Mendoza Line, as he's currently slashing .173/.204/.327.

Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Sitting out with sore groin

LeMahieu is being held out Monday to rest his sore left groin, MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports.

LeMahieu's injury does not appear to be serious, but he is sitting out Monday in order to prevent the soreness from becoming anything more than that. LeMahieu should have a chance to return to action Tuesday, but the Rockies may opt to hold him out again if he is still not 100 percent.

Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Not in lineup Monday

LeMahieu is not in the lineup Monday against the Reds, Zach Buchanan of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

This is the second time in three days that LeMahieu has taken a seat. It's unclear whether the cause of the day off is the groin tightness that was ailing him Saturday, but the situation should become clearer soon.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Not in lineup Monday

Suarez is not in the lineup Monday against the Rockies.

Suarez has been one of the Reds hottest hitters on the young season, batting .319 with four home runs and 10 RBI, but he'll get the day off Monday after starting every game so far this season. Jordan Pacheco will fill in at third base and bat second in his stead.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Braves' Jace Peterson: Three-RBI game Sunday

Peterson got the start in left field Sunday and went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a run scored and three RBI in a 6-5 extra-inning win over the Marlins.

The RBI were his first of the season, to go along with his first multi-hit game, and all three came on his bases-loaded double in the first inning. While seeing action in left field does put Peterson on pace for extra position versatility, he'll need to hit better than his current .222/.276/.259 slash line to find his way onto most fantasy rosters.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Launches two dingers versus Cubs

Arenado went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs during Sunday's win over the Cubs.

Arenado launched homers number five and six on the young season, accounting for all of the offense in a game in which Tyler Chatwood out-dueled John Lester. The third-sacker has mashed at a .354 clip with five home runs, 13 RBI and eight runs scored over the last seven games, and he seems likely to rival the monster numbers he posted in 2015.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Diamondbacks' Jean Segura: Held out of Sunday's lineup

Segura is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres, according to Jody Jackson of Fox Sports Arizona.

Segura has cooled off since his hot start, going just 5-for-26 over his last seven games, so manager Chip Hale decided to give him a mental break Sunday. Brandon Drury will get the start at second base Sunday in Segura's place.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Tallies RBI double in Saturday victory

Suarez went 1-for-5 with an RBI double and a run scored in Saturday's 9-8 victory over the Cardinals.

The 24-year-old shortstop's sixth-inning two-bagger plated Jordan Pacheco, and was part of a four-run frame that saw the Reds break a 4-4 tie. Suarez continues knocking the cover off the ball, and has managed to hit safely in all but two games so far this season. He's tallied five multi-hit efforts as well, and leads the Reds in homers with four. He's also impressively kept his strikeouts in check, fanning only seven times in his first 43 at-bats. With multi-tool talent, Suarez looks more and more like a young cornerstone that's set to pay off handsome fantasy dividends.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Out of Saturday's lineup

LeMahieu is out of Saturday's lineup against the Cubs, MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports.

Cristhian Adames will get the start at the keystone and hit leadoff Saturday, making him an intriguing cheap option in daily leagues. It's simply a day off for LeMahieu, and he should be back in the lineup Sunday.
