  • Jason Vosler 3B | SEA

Giants' Jason Vosler: Sent back to Sacramento

The Giants optioned Vosler to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.

After going 0-for-5 with a walk while making two straight starts following his call-up from Sacramento on Friday, Vosler will head back to the Giants' top minor-league affiliate. Right-handed pitcher Sean Hjelle was recalled from Triple-A to take Vosler's spot on the active roster.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Twins' Gio Urshela: Takes seat Sunday

Urshela is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.

Urshela will head to the bench and give way at third base to the hot-hitting Jose Miranda. Despite Miranda's improved production of late, Urshela still appears to be viewed as manager Rocco Baldelli's preferred option at the hot corner.

  • Jake Burger 1B | TEX

White Sox's Jake Burger: Sitting again for Sunday's game

Burger is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.

He hasn't logged an official at-bat since June 26 -- this marks his sixth straight absence from the starting lineup. Yoan Moncada's return from the injured list has made Burger an afterthought, even after the 26-year-old Burger posted an .887 OPS in the month of June.

  • Taylor Walls SS | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: Claims primary role at second base

Walls will start at second base and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Walls will stay in the lineup for the sixth time in seven games and appears to have solidified himself as the Rays' primary second baseman ahead of Vidal Brujan, at least until Brandon Lowe (back) returns from the injured list. Though he's produced a measly .186/.213/.302 slash line since the beginning of June, Walls' excellent defense in the middle infield looks as though it'll be enough to keep him atop the depth chart for now.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Brewers' Jace Peterson: Doubles twice in loss

Peterson went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI in Saturday's 7-4 loss.

Peterson will take a seven-game hitting streak into Sunday's series finale in Pittsburgh and has produced four extra-base knocks (one home run, three doubles) over that stretch. He'll start in right field and bat eighth Sunday, and Peterson should have a clear path to a regular spot in the lineup against right-handed pitching while both Hunter Renfroe (calf) and Tyrone Taylor (concussion) are on the injured list.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: On bench Sunday

Ramirez is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.

This looks like nothing more than a rest day for Ramirez after he started both games of Saturday's doubleheader. Gabriel Arias slots in at third base and as the No. 3 hitter against lefty Jordan Montgomery. Ramirez has uncharacteristically struck out six times in his last three games, so he could probably use the day off to sit back and observe.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Takes seat Sunday

Bregman is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

Aledmys Diaz will get a turn at third base as Bregman sits. Bregman went 1-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's game, but he also struck out three times -- rare for the 28-year-old. It was his first three-strikeout game of the season.

  • Brian Anderson RF | ATL

Marlins' Brian Anderson: Takes seat Sunday

Anderson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Anderson will cede duties at third base to Luke Williams after going 3-for-10 with a home run, two walks, two RBI and an additional run while starting each of the past three games at the hot corner. Even though Joey Wendle returned from the injured list earlier this weekend, he's now picked up starts at second base and shortstop, so the Marlins may be viewing Anderson as their primary third baseman for the time being.

  • Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL

Reds' Kyle Farmer: Out Sunday with hand injury

Farmer (hand) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

Matt Reynolds will step in at shortstop in place of Farmer, who exited Saturday's 4-1 loss with a hand injury. Fortunately for Farmer, X-rays on his hand returned negative, so he'll be viewed as day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener with the Mets and is hopeful to avoid a stint on the injured list.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Swipes ninth bag

Hayes went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored Saturday against the Brewers.

Hayes was the catalyst for a three-run rally in the fifth inning. He drew a one-out walk, stole second base and then came around to score on a single by Daniel Vogelbach. Hayes hasn't delivered much power across the first half of the season, though he has chipped in nine stolen bases on 12 attempts while also racking up 35 runs scored across 70 games.
