  • Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL

Reds' Kyle Farmer: Swipes bag in loss

Farmer went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, two RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's win over Atlanta.

After his sixth-inning steal against the battery of Sean Newcomb and Travis d'Arnaud, Farmer is already halfway to his 2021 stolen base total. Adding a speed element would make Farmer much more interesting from a fantasy standpoint. He's otherwise a modest contributor, even with near-everyday playing time.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Not starting series finale

LeMahieu is out of the lineup for Sunday night's game versus the Red Sox.

LeMahieu is 1-for-5 with a solo homer and two walks through the first two games of the season and will receive the day off Sunday. The veteran infielder started at second base Opening Day and at the hot corner Saturday, and he figures to continue moving between the positions with Gleyber Torres also in the mix. Torres will start at the keystone in Sunday's series finale.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Smacks two hits Saturday

Machado went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, two runs scored, a walk and a stolen base Saturday against the Diamondbacks.

Machado went hitless on Opening Day but has racked up three hits over his last nine at-bats since then. The star third baseman should be one of the main offensive threats for the Padres going forward and looks to be hitting his stride with hits in back-to-back games.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Not starting Sunday

Rendon is not in Sunday's starting lineup against the Astros, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Rendon started each of the team's first three games of the season, collecting one hit and walking twice across 11 plate appearances. He's in line for some routine rest, so Jack Mayfield will enter the lineup at third base and hit fourth.

  • Royce Lewis 3B | MIN

Twins' Royce Lewis: Hot start at Triple-A

Lewis is hitting .353 (6-for-21) with a home run and three stolen bases in his first four games for Triple-A St. Paul.

Lewis suffered a torn ACL ahead of the 2021 campaign and missed all of last season. While his hot start is just a sample size of four games, it shows he's back to full speed, and the stolen bases are especially promising considering the nature of his injury.

  • Taylor Walls SS | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: Out again Sunday

Walls is not in the lineup Sunday against the Orioles.

Walls has been out of the lineup for two of the team's first three games of the season. It appears that his primary competition for playing time will come from Yandy Diaz and Harold Ramirez, both of whom are starting Sunday.

  • Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW

Reds' Mike Moustakas: Shifts to bench

Moustakas is not in Sunday's lineup against Atlanta.

Moustakas started each of the team's first three games of the campaign, and he collected one hit in 10 plate appearances. Colin Moran will draw his first start of the season in Moustakas' absence, playing third base while hitting seventh.

  • Jake Burger 1B | TEX

White Sox's Jake Burger: Takes seat Sunday

Burger is not in Sunday's lineup against the Tigers.

Burger will rest for the first time this season after starting at third base in each of Chicago's first two games in the absence of Yoan Moncada (oblique). Josh Harrison will shift over to third base, with Danny Mendick entering the lineup to start at second base while hitting ninth.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Phillies' Jean Segura: Swats first homer

Segura went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 4-2 victory versus Oakland.

Segura was one of three Phillies to go deep in the contest, as his sixth-inning solo shot accounted for the team's final run of the game. The veteran infielder belted 14 homers last season -- the most he has totaled since the 2016 season. Segura is off to a strong start in 2022, going 3-for-7 with two extra-base hits and two runs over two games.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Second double in as many games

Urias went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Rays.

Urias has gone 3-for-8 across the first two games of the season, and two of his hits have been doubles. That's a continuation of a strong spring for the infielder, who has earned a starting role out of the gates. Urias started at second base Friday against lefty Shane McClanahan, then moved over to the hot corner with a righty (Drew Rasmussen) on the bump Saturday. If that arrangement continues, it'll leave Rougned Odor and Kelvin Gutierrez in part-time roles to begin the season.
