  • Taylor Walls SS | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: One knock in return

Walls went 1-for-4 on Sunday against the White Sox.

Walls returned from a three-game absence that was caused by a calf issue and hit ninth while starting at shortstop. With Wander Franco (quadriceps) and Brandon Lowe (back) sidelined, Walls should continue to get considerable playing time. However, he'll need to hit better to hold off Isaac Paredes, as Walls has hit just .087 with one RBI and three runs scored across his last 15 games.

  • Jake Burger 1B | TEX

White Sox's Jake Burger: Displays more power

Burger went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored Sunday against the Rays.

Burger entered the starting lineup in place of Yoan Moncada, who was out for rest. Burger took advantage and drove in both his runs in the first frame on a ground rule double. He has delivered four extra-base hits in his last four starts and is seemingly challenging Gavin Sheets for playing time as designated hitter.

  • Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: May be headed to IL

The Tigers will make a determination about whether Candelario (shoulder) needs to be placed on the injured list ahead of Tuesday's game in Pittsburgh, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Manager A.J. Hinch said Candelario felt his shoulder shift when he dove and hit the ground before exiting Sunday's game. Hinch added that he doesn't want to play with a limited roster, so it sounds like an IL stint for Candelario is likely, although he will get a "battery of tests" before then, according to Hinch. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, that decision may not be made until Tuesday, as the Tigers are off Monday.

  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Reds' Nick Senzel: Swipes first bag

Senzel went 2-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored in a 5-4 loss Sunday against Washington.

Senzel led off the bottom of the first with a single and later stole second and scored. The center fielder has gotten off to a great start in June, hitting safely in all five games while going 7-for-23 with four runs scored. It was the first time in three attempts that the 26-year-old successfully swiped a bag. Senzel continues to display little power at the big-league level with just four extra-base hits in 117 plate appearances this season.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Blue Jays' Matt Chapman: Knocks seventh home run

Chapman went 3-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored in Sunday's 8-6 loss to Minnesota.

Chapman hammered a solo shot in the seventh inning and scored a second run on Santiago Espinal's homer in the ninth. His 415-foot blast ended a 15-game homerless drought; he hit .245 with just four RBI during that span. On the year, Chapman is now slashing .215/.307/.373 with 14 extra-base hits through 52 contests.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Knocks in four runs

Suarez went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, four RBI and a walk in Sunday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Rangers.

Suarez twice pulled the Mariners even in the contest. He produced their first two runs with a solo home run and an RBI single in the fourth and fifth innings, then added a two-run double in the ninth to tie the game at 5-5. The third baseman is riding an eight-game hitting streak, going 11-for-29 (.379) in that span. For the season, he's up to a .236/.323/.472 slash line with 11 homers, 32 RBI, 31 runs scored and 11 doubles through 223 plate appearances after his second three-hit game of the year.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Cranks 12th homer

Devers went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run and RBI in a 5-2 win against the Athletics on Sunday.

Devers singled home a run in the first inning, walked and scored in the sixth and smacked a solo home run off A.J. Puk in the eighth to extend a Boston lead. The 25-year-old ended a five-game homer drought with the long ball, pulling him into a tie for 14th in the majors on the heels of last season's career-best mark of 38. Devers' .341/.371/.606 slash line features a batting average and slugging percentage and a .977 OPS that all rank among the top six in MLB.

  • Jason Vosler 3B | SEA

Giants' Jason Vosler: Steals base in win

Vosler went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in a 5-1 win Sunday in Miami.

Vosler started at third base for the fifth straight game. He singled, stole a base and scored in the Giants' four-run fourth inning. Since being recalled from Triple-A on Wednesday, he is 5-for-16 with two homers, a double and a stolen base and has reached base safely in all five contests. With Evan Longoria (shoulder) limited to a hitting role, Vosler is making the most of his opportunity to fill in at the hot corner.

  • Kevin Newman 3B | LAA

    Pirates' Kevin Newman: Starts running

Newman (groin) resumed running Sunday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

He is eligible to return June 26, and it seems like that could be achievable. The Pirates have deserving young middle-infield options in Diego Castillo and Tucupita Marcano, so it remains to be seen how much Newman will play once healthy.

  • Jason Vosler 3B | SEA

Giants' Jason Vosler: Swats another homer

Vosler went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Marlins.

Vosler has homered in back-to-back games for the second time this year, which accounts for all four of his long balls. With Evan Longoria still dealing with lingering shoulder soreness, Vosler will make a fifth straight start at third base in Sunday's road trip finale in Miami. He's posted a .298/.370/.596 slash line with eight RBI, eight runs scored and a pair of doubles through 54 plate appearances this year.
