Rivera isn't in the lineup Wednesday against Cleveland.

Rivera started each of the last 11 games, but he went just 1-for-8 with a double, two runs, two walks and a strikeout across his last three appearances. Hanser Alberto will take his place at third base and bat ninth.

Walls was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Walls got off to a slow start after the All-Star break and went 1-for-15 with a double, an RBI and two walks across six games. However, he fared slightly better since returning to the minors in late July, as he slashed .224/.355/.469 with six homers, 26 runs, 15 RBI and six stolen bases across 29 games. Walls will slot into a backup role at shortstop behind Wander Franco.

McMahon went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers.

McMahon sent a solo shot to right off Jordan Lyles in the seventh to make it a one-run deficit for the Rockies, but they were never able to draw even before the game ended. The 26-year-old is now 2-for-25 over his last seven games, with both of his hits going for home runs. Despite his recent struggles, McMahon is still slashing .256/.324/.452 with 20 homers, 67 RBI, 68 runs scored, four steals and 43:123 BB:K over 484 plate appearances.

Bregman went 1-for-3 with a walk in Tuesday's 4-0 loss to Seattle.

Bregman returned to the lineup after resting Monday. He was given an off day after playing four consecutive games fresh off off the injured list. There could be more random down time in the next week for Bregman, who missed more than two months with a quadriceps injury.

Machado went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's win over Arizona.

Machado's two-run homer off Zac Gallen in the fifth inning snapped a scoreless tie and was all the offense San Diego would need in the 3-0 shutout. The long ball was Machado's first since Aug. 20 and just his third overall during the month. The veteran slugger finished August with a .234/.278/.355 slash line, 11 RBI and a 7:24 BB:K across 26 games.

Toro went 2-for-3 with a grand slam and a walk in a 4-0 shutout of the Astros on Tuesday.

Toro reached base three times Tuesday, walking in the first inning, singling in the fourth and smashing a tie-breaking grand slam to right center in the eighth. Interestingly enough, the long ball came against Houston reliever Kendall Graveman, the player Seattle traded to Houston for Toro back in July. It was the infielder's first home run since Aug. 3, after he hit three in his first seven games with the Mariners.

Kieboom went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk during Tuesday's loss to the Phillies.

Kieboom took Matt Moore deep with a 406-footer in the fourth inning. It was the sixth long ball of the year for the 23-year-old, who has tallied two long balls in as many games. Overall this season, he's batting .237/.341/.421 with six homers.

Hayes (hand) is not currently swinging but is considered day-to-day, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.

The third baseman disclosed that he suffered the hand bruise while slamming his helmet after making an out Sunday. He's not swinging while he still experiences some soreness, but it doesn't sound like the club has any plans to send him to the injured list at this point. He's day-to-day and could return to the lineup as soon as Wednesday against the White Sox.

Longoria received a cortisone shot Tuesday to address his hand soreness and is tentatively scheduled to resume hitting within the next two days, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Longoria has been out since Aug. 18 with the hand issue. He attempted to hit high-velocity pitching last week, but had to stop after experiencing too much pain in his right index finger. The hope is that the cortisone shot will help the discomfort subside and allow the third baseman to resume taking swings. If Longoria's able to ramp up his baseball activities substantially in the coming days, he could have a chance of being activated without going on a rehab assignment.

The Giants optioned Vosler to Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday.

Vosler went 0-for-2 with a pair of strikeouts Monday after being called up from Sacramento. Rosters expand Wednesday, although Vosler's .178/.256/.356 slash line in 82 plate appearances won't make him a priority call-up in September.
