Manager Bob Melvin said that Chapman (lower leg) is feeling "a little better" but is not available Tuesday against the Royals, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Chapman is set to miss his second game in a row after fouling a ball off his shin/ankle area Saturday. Despite seeing some improvement, Melvin said that the third baseman is "still kind of locked up and not moving around really well." His status appears to still be a day-to-day situation, and Josh Harrison figures to be the main answer at third base until he's able to return.

Longoria is not the lineup Tuesday against the Padres.

The 35-year-old will get a day off after starting four consecutive games and collecting five hits and two homers. Kris Bryant takes over at third base while Steven Duggar starts in center field against Jake Arrieta.

Chapman exited Saturday's loss to Texas after fouling a ball off his left foot/shin area. Despite X-rays coming back negative, the third baseman is absent from the starting nine for the second game in a row. It's not yet clear if he could be an option off the bench Tuesday, and he can be considered day-to-day until further update is given. Josh Harrison will start at the hot corner again Tuesday.

Walls is not starting Tuesday against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Walls has gone 2-for-9 with three walks, a run scored and a stolen base while starting the previous three games after being recalled Saturday. Joey Wendle shifts to shortstop Tuesday as Yandy Diaz slots in at the hot corner.

Moustakas will sit Tuesday against the Pirates.

Moustakas hasn't started against a lefty since his return from the injured list in early August. That trend continues here against Dillon Peters, with Eugenio Suarez starting at third base.

Sosa (wrist) went 1-for-5 with an RBI single in a win over the Mets on Monday.

The infielder made his return to the starting nine after a four-game absence due to wrist soreness, with his two-at-bat cameo as a defensive replacement in Sunday's contest versus the Reds teeing up Monday's start. Sosa's ninth-inning RBI knock extended the Cardinals' lead to 6-0 at the time and pushed his average over eight September games to an impressive .308 (8-for-26).

Donaldson is not in the lineup for the first half of Tuesday's doubleheader against Cleveland.

Given Donaldson's injury history, it's no surprise to see that he won't be asked to play two games in one day. Luis Arraez will start at third base in the afternoon contest, but Donaldson should return for the nightcap.

Devers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Mariners.

Devers was the second of back-to-back jacks in the eighth inning, but that's where Boston's rally ended. The blast was the 34th home run of the season for Devers and gives him 103 RBI, tied for third in MLB.

Bregman went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in the win over the Rangers on Monday.

The 27-year-old took reliever A.J. Alexy deep in the sixth inning, driving in teammate Jose Altuve. The homer marked number 10 for him on the season. He has now secured at least one hit in 14 of 16 games since returning from the 10-day injured list Aug. 25. The third baseman has batted .386 with three home runs and 13 RBI over that stretch.

Longoria went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in Monday's 9-1 win over the Padres.

Longoria launched a three-run blast off Yu Darvish as part of San Francisco's five-run first inning. He later added an RBI single in the eighth. It was his 12th home run of the year and second over his last three appearances. Longoria has gone 6-for-17 (.353) with 13 RBI over the last six games, improving his season OPS to .931.
