  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Sits against Sabathia in Game 4

Devers is not in the lineup for Game 4 of the ALDS against the Yankees on Tuesday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Despite going 2-for-6 with an RBI, a stolen base and two runs scored in Monday's Game 3 victory, Devers will give way to Eduardo Nunez at the hot corner Tuesday with lefty CC Sabathia toeing the rubber for the Yankees. The youngster hit .240/.298/.433 with 21 homers through 121 games this season and will likely be one of manager Alex Cora's first players off the bench.

  • Dodgers' Manny Machado: Homers in win

Machado went 2-for-5 with a homer and four RBI in Monday's Game 4 win over the Braves.

It was Machado's second homer of the series and accounted for almost all of the Dodgers' offense. Machado will look to stay hot against the Brewers in the NLCS.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Held out versus lefty Sunday

Muncy is not in the lineup for Sunday's NLDS Game 3 against the Braves, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Muncy typically sits out with left-handed pitchers on the bump for the opposition, so he'll do just that with southpaw Sean Newcomb tossing for Atlanta. David Freese will take a turn at first base in his stead.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Out against righty in Game 2

Devers remains out of the lineup for Game 2 of the ALDS against righty Masahiro Tanaka and the Yankees on Saturday.

It was expected that Devers would sit against southpaw J.A. Happ in Game 1, but to see him sit against Tanaka is something of a surprise. Eduardo Nunez keeps his place at third base, due presumably to his greater defensive ability. The Red Sox evidently don't feel that Devers' .240/.298/.433 line at the plate is enough to overcome his deficiencies on the other side of the ball, so he could well be relegated to a bench role for the rest of the playoffs.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Not in Game 1 lineup vs. Yankees

Devers is out of the lineup against the Yankees in Game 1 of the ALDS on Friday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Devers will head to the bench with left-hander J.A. Happ on the mound for New York. In his absence, Eduardo Nunez will man third base and bat sixth.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Launches 35th homer

Muncy went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and two runs scored in Monday's win over the Rockies.

Muncy delivered a two-run blast over the fence in left-center field during the fifth inning to extend the Dodgers' lead to four. The 28-year-old has collected two RBI in each of the last three ballgames, and he finished the season with a .263/.391/.582 slash line through 137 games. Los Angeles is scheduled to match up with the Braves in the NLDS starting Thursday.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Belts 38th home run

Arenado went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Dodgers.

Arenado got the Rockies into the scoring column in the ninth inning, but they'd fall in Game 163 with Los Angeles emerging as the division champs. He'll end the regular season as the National League leader in home runs (38). The 27-year-old will have at least one more game left in 2018, as Colorado is set to face off against the Cubs on Tuesday in the wild-card game.

  • Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA

Cardinals' Patrick Wisdom: Pair of hits in season finale

Wisdom went 2-for-4 with a double and a run in a loss to the Cubs on Sunday.

The rookie logged his first start since Sept. 15 in the finale and made good use of the opportunity. Wisdom was solid in his first taste of major-league action in 2018, but his path to the big leagues with the Cardinals organization remains murky due to the team seemingly set at both corner infield spots with Matt Carpenter and Jedd Gyorko.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Mariners' Jean Segura: On bench Sunday

Segura is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Segura remained in the starting nine Saturday after being benched for a lack of hustle in Friday's game, but the veteran will take a seat for the season finale. The Mariners have all but three of their regular starters on the bench, with Andrew Romine taking over at shortstop and batting ninth. Segura could still enter the game but is likely to finish the season with a .304/.341/.415 slash line, 20 stolen bases and 10 home runs.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Held out versus lefty Sunday

Muncy is not in the lineup Sunday against the Giants, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

With lefty Andrew Suarez tossing for San Francisco, it comes as little surprise that Muncy will retreat to the bench. Unless he gets to the plate one more time as a pinch-hitter (or in a potential game 163), he'll finish the season with a career-best .957 OPS to go with 33 home runs, 75 RBI and 72 runs scored. David Freese will replace him at first base for the afternoon.
