After leaving Saturday's game due to a bruised forearm, Rays third baseman Evan Longoria was back in the lineup Sunday, reports The Tampa Tribune. Longoria will hit third and play third base.

Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado kept his hot swinging alive on Saturday, as he homered for the sixth consecutive game. He blasted a two-run shot off Jake Peavy in the sixth inning, but it was not enough to avoid the 7-3 loss to the Giants.

Arenado is now tied with teammate Carlos Gonzalez for the National League lead in home runs with 36. He has also recorded at least one RBI in eight straight ballgames, and he's batting a ridiculous .457 over that stretch.

Rays third baseman Evan Longoria had to leave Saturday's game after sustaining a bruised right forearm, reports Fox Sports.

Longoria was 0 for 1 with one walk before leaving. He is considered day to day.

Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas is again out of the lineup Friday against the White Sox with a hamstring ailment.

Moustakas has been absent four straight games after posting five multi-hit efforts in his previous nine games.

Moustakas is batting .333 (23 for 69) with five home runs, nine doubles, 19 RBI, 10 runs, nine walks and seven strikeouts in his last 19 games.

Rays third baseman Evan Longoria hit two home runs during his team's loss to the Orioles on Wednesday.

Longoria went 2 for 5 with three RBI.

Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas remains out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's matchup with the Tigers. Moustakas will miss his second straight game due to a pulled hamstring.

Cheslor Cuthbert will handle the hot corner on Wednesday with Moustakas on the shelf. 

Manager Ned Yost said Moustakas is able to pinch hit, but likely won't start Thursday's game, according to MLB.com.

A hamstring pull has Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas sidelined, but Ned Yost is hopeful he can return to action as early as Wednesday, per the Kansas City Star.

Moustakas has been on a roll lately with four multi-hit efforts in his last six games. His slash line on the year of .283/.349/.448 represents career-bests across the board.

Athletics rookie right-hander Aaron Brooks has been called up and will start Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks. Brooks has made four appearances (three starts) since coming over from the Royals in a deal right before the July 31 trade deadline.

His last start came back on August 12, when he was rocked for eight runs over 1 2/3 innings. He pitched in relief two days later and was then sent down to Triple-A. 

To clear room on the roster, infielder Max Muncy was optioned to Triple-A Nashville.

Giants third baseman Matt Duffy has lost no time to a right ankle sprain that plagued him during the game Wednesday. He is in the lineup Thursday against the Cubs.

The team can ill-afford to lose Duffy, who has been among their most productive hitters. He just had an eight-game hitting streak snapped in which he batted .333 (11-for-33).
