    The third baseman took advantage of Coors Field's thin air, going back-to-back with Alex Call to lead off the game. Candelario has hit safely in five of the last six games, launching both his homers on the season during that stretch, but he's still batting just .194 (6-for-31) to begin his Nationals tenure.

    Moncada went 1-for-5 with a run scored Friday against the Pirates.

    Moncada returned from a one-game absence due to a sore foot and continued his strong start to the season. He has at least one hit in every contest that he's played and collected multiple knocks in three of seven matchups. Overall, he has 12 hits across 31 plate appearances, though he has struck out at a 32.3 percent clip.

    Diamondbacks' Evan Longoria: Homers, reaches four times

    Longoria went 3-for-3 with a double, a solo home run and two runs scored in Friday's victory over the Dodgers. He also walked.

    Longoria continues to rake in the early part of the season, and he tied the game at 3-3 with a blast off Clayton Kershaw in the sixth. In his first year with the Diamondbacks, the veteran third baseman has gone deep twice over his first five contests while batting .429 (6-for-14) on the short side of a platoon.

    McMahon went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's loss to Washington.

    McMahon's homer went an estimated 441 feet off MacKenzie Gore in the second inning. The second baseman has gone deep twice in the first eight games this season and is slugging .500, but he's also hitting just .200 over his first 30 at-bats.

    Rays' Isaac Paredes: Cracks grand slam

    Paredes went 3-for-5 with a grand slam during Friday's win over Oakland.

    The 24-year-old slugger ripped a grand slam against Ken Waldichuk in the second inning. Paredes had just four hits through 17 at-bats before Friday's breakout performance. He now has two homers with six RBI and a 1:5 BB:K.

  • Bryan Ramos 3B | BAL

    White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Could return next week

    Ramos (groin) could return to the lineup for Double-A Birmingham next week, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

    Ramos is out of the lineup currently to start the year while dealing with groin soreness. The 21-year-old is rated as one of the top infield prospects in the system, and he has an outside chance of playing for the White Sox before the end of the 2023 campaign.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

    White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Back in lineup Friday

    Moncada (foot) is starting at third base and batting cleanup for the White Sox in Friday's game versus the Pirates.

    Moncada sat out Thursday after fouling a ball off his foot Wednesday, although it had been viewed more as a simple day of rest. He's off to a blazing start this season with a 1.302 OPS and two home runs in his first six contests.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

    Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Expected to land on IL

    Donaldson (hamstring) is likely to require an injured list stint, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.

    The hamstring injury which forced Donaldson from Wednesday's game against the Phillies was downplayed at the time, but he apparently hasn't made as much progress as anticipated. The team will make an official call on a potential IL move later Friday. DJ LeMahieu should be the Yanks' primary third baseman while Donaldson is out, but Oswaldo Cabrera and Isiah Kiner-Falefa are also options.

    Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Absent from Friday's lineup

    Donaldson (hamstring) is not in the Yankees' lineup for Friday's game in Baltimore.

    The hamstring injury which forced Donaldson from Wednesday's game versus the Phillies was not deemed serious, but he'll be held out even after Thursday's off day. DJ LeMahieu will be at third base.
