Hayes went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Mets.

The third baseman hasn't gotten going at the plate since returning from a back injury in late August, perhaps due to a newer shoulder issue, and he's hitting just .147 (5-for-34) over his last 10 games. Hayes has at least supplied a little fantasy value with a couple steals during that stretch. The 25-year-old is up to a career-high 15 stolen bases on the season to go along with a .242/.313/.346 slash line, six homers, 36 RBI and 45 runs through 113 contests.

Muncy went 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double, three RBI and three runs scored in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Giants.

Muncy snapped a 13-game homer drought in the third inning with a two-run blast. He added a solo shot in the sixth for good measure, raising his season total to 18 long balls. The infielder is up to a .192/.321/.381 slash line with 54 RBI, 58 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases through 468 plate appearances, though he's now hit safely in four straight games.

Candelario is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.

The 28-year-old is on the bench Tuesday for the fourth time in Detroit's last five games, as rookie Ryan Kreidler is beginning to see more time at third base. Candelario finished August on a six-game hit streak during which he hit .375 with two home runs, three doubles and eight RBI, but he's 0-for-10 with a walk through his first three appearances of September.

Senzel was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against the Cubs due to a right ankle sprain, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The severity of the sprain is unknown at this time. Albert Almora will take his spot in center field and bat second in the order.

Walls is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox.

Walls started the last nine games for the Rays, but he tallied just three hits in 32 at-bats (.094) over that span, so manager Kevin Cash decided to give him a day to clear his head. Yu Chang will start at shortstop in Walls' place.

Hayes (shoulder) is starting at third base and hitting fifth Tuesday against the Mets, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

It was reported that Hayes would be ready to play Monday, but that game got postponed, so it's no surprise to see him make his return Tuesday after missing a few days with left shoulder discomfort. The Pirates have a doubleheader Wednesday, so it's possible Hayes will be held out of one of those contests.

De La Cruz is hitting .301/.356/.589 with eight homers and 10 steals through 26 games since his promotion to Double-A Chattanooga.

He's now up to 27 homers and 38 steals across two levels of the minors this year. The main (and perhaps only) concern with regard to De La Cruz remains his strikeout rate, as he's now whiffed 139 times in 466 plate appearances this season -- a 29.8 percent clip. He certainly won't be able to hit .300 in the big leagues with a strikeout rate that high, but he's also just 20 years old -- despite the incredible numbers he's putting up, this is still a very young prospect with plenty of development to go. There have been isolated periods of time when it looked like he was improving his plate discipline, only for De La Cruz to revert to his usual ways, but there's still plenty of time for him to make the necessary adjustments.

Davis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and three strikeouts in Monday's 7-4 win over the Dodgers.

It was a case of mixed results for Davis, whose third-inning homer gave the Giants a 3-2 lead. It was his first long ball since Aug. 17, which is disappointing after he hit four homers in his first 12 games after being traded from the Mets. The 29-year-old has a .243/.336/.403 slash line with nine homers, 28 RBI, 38 runs scored and one stolen base through 91 contests between the two teams this year. He could feature more frequently with the Giants set to face left-handed pitchers in each of the next two games against the rival Dodgers.

Candelario is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.

After a 9-for-24 stretch to end the month of August, he has yet to record a hit in September. Candelario has now been on the bench for two of the last four games. In his place, Ryan Kreidler will take over at third base and bat eighth.

Duffy will start the game at first base and bat sixth in the order Monday against Detroit, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Duffy has recorded a .517 OPS since returning from the 60-day injured list Aug. 29, though he is currently on a three-game hitting streak. Mike Ford will ride the bench Monday in favor of Duffy.
