Oswald Peraza 2B | LAA
Yankees' Oswald Peraza: No broken bones after HBP
Peraza was removed from Sunday's Triple-A game against Buffalo after being hit by a pitch on his right hand, and subsequent X-rays showed no broken bones, per Conor Foley of The Scranton Times-Tribune.
RailRiders manager Doug Davis indicated that the organization was being cautious in removing Peraza after the hit-by-pitch and that the shortstop wasn't in much pain. X-ray results suggest that Peraza avoided a serious injury, though it's uncertain if he'll need to miss any time. The 22-year-old started the season somewhat slowly but is slashing .305/.371/.558 with six homers, 18 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 23 games since the start of July.

Royce Lewis 3B | MIN
Twins' Royce Lewis: Progressing well from ACL tear
Lewis was cleared to resume walking without the aid of crutches July 12, three weeks after he underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
Though he's still in the early stage of his rehab program, Lewis already appears to be progressing at a faster rate than he did in February 2021, when he first tore the ACL of the same knee. After getting surgery last February, Lewis didn't start walking until five and a half weeks later. Lewis ultimately received a clean bill of health ahead of spring training, but due to the timing of his latest surgery and its estimated 10-to-12-month recovery timeline, he's likely to spent at least the first few weeks of the 2023 campaign on the injured list. While the pair of knee surgeries are troubling for a player like Lewis who is speed-oriented, he has youth working in his favor and shouldn't be sidelined for a large chunk of the upcoming season if he manages to steer clear of any setbacks in the months to come.

Reds' Mike Moustakas: Departs with calf injury
Moustakas left Monday's game against the Mets due to a left calf injury, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL
Reds' Kyle Farmer: Scratched with sore neck
Farmer was scratched from the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets due neck stiffness, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
Farmer was originally slated to play third base and hit fifth Monday, but he will be unable to go due to a sore neck. Mike Moustakas will man the hot corner in Farmer's place, and Donovan Solano will serve as the Reds' designated hitter.

Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA
Cubs' Nick Madrigal: Taking on primary duties at 2B
Madrigal will start at second base and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Nationals.
With David Bote having been optioned to Triple-A Iowa, Christopher Morel having been deployed in more of a utility role of late and with Zach McKinstry getting off to an 0-for-14 start to his Cubs career, Madrigal has gained traction as the team's primary option of second base since coming off the injured list last Tuesday. He'll pick up his fourth start in five games Monday.

Ildemaro Vargas 1B | ARI
Nationals' Ildemaro Vargas: Not starting Monday
Vargas isn't in the lineup Monday against the Cubs.
Vargas started the last three games and went 2-for-9 with a double, an RBI and a walk. Maikel Franco will take his place at the hot corner and bat ninth.

Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN
Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Productive day in win
Suarez went 2-for-3 with an RBI double, a walk and two runs in a win over the Angels on Sunday.
Suarez opened the scoring on the afternoon with his 20th two-bagger of the season, which plated Adam Frazier. The veteran third baseman had been mired in an 0-for-13 funk over the prior three games, and Sunday's double marked only his fourth extra-base hit in the last 19 games.

Brett Baty 3B | NYM
Mets' Brett Baty: Earns promotion to Triple-A
The Mets promoted Baty from Double-A Binghamton to Triple-A Syracuse on Monday, Michael Mayer of MetsmerizedOnline.com reports.
In Syracuse, Baty will be joining two of the organization's other top position prospects in catcher Francisco Alvarez and outfielder Mark Vientos. The 22-year-old Baty earned the call to Triple-A after slashing .312/.406/.544 with 41 extra-base hits and an 11.9 percent walk rate across 394 plate appearances at Binghamton.
