Tigers' James McCann: Heads to bench Thursday
McCann is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Red Sox.

Mitch Garver DH | SEA
Twins' Mitch Garver: Returns for Game 2 of doubleheader
Garver (quadriceps) will start at catcher and bat sixth in Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the White Sox.
Garver was unlikely to start both games of the doubleheader -- especially while recently dealing with a bruised quadriceps -- and ceded Game 1 to Bobby Wilson. Garver returns for Tuesday's nightcap having gone 3-for-25 with three walks over his last seven starts.

Twins' Mitch Garver: Out of lineup for Game 1 of doubleheader
Garver (quadriceps) is not in the lineup for Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the White Sox, Brandon Warne of ZoneCoverage.com reports.
Garver is dealing with a bruised quadriceps, but the Twins didn't summon an additional catcher from the minors prior to Tuesday's twin bill, suggesting the 27-year-old will be back behind the dish for Game 2. Bobby Wilson is starting behind the plate and hitting ninth in his stead for Game 1.

Austin Wynns C | ATH
Orioles' Austin Wynns: Recalled from Triple-A
Wynns was promoted from Triple-A Norfolk to the major leagues Tuesday.
Wynns is set to make his major-league debut after putting together a .257/.314/.404 slash line with four home runs and 16 RBI through 32 games at Triple-A. He figures to serve as the Orioles' backup catcher following the demotion of Andrew Susac to the minors.

Cameron Rupp C | MIN
Twins' Cameron Rupp: Signs with Twins
Rupp inked a minor-league deal with Minnesota on Monday, ESPN's Darren Wolfson reports.
Rupp was released by the Rangers on Saturday, but he's already caught on with a new team. He'll be sent to Triple-A Rochester. During his last stint in the major leagues (which came in 2017 with the Phillies), Rupp hit .217 with 14 home runs and 34 RBI over 88 games. If he performs well in the minors, he could get an opportunity to earn playing time at the big-league level. Bobby Wilson is currently the only healthy catcher, with Mitch Garver (quadriceps) listed as day-to-day and Jason Castro (knee) set to miss the rest of the season.

James McCann C | ARI
Tigers' James McCann: Returns to lineup Monday
McCann (intercostal) is starting at catcher and hitting seventh in Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader against the Yankees.
As expected, McCann is good to go for Game 2 of Monday's twin bill after getting the first game off to recover from an intercostal spasm that forced his premature exit from Sunday's contest. The 27-year-old, who is hitting .256/.310/.375 with four homers through 45 games this season, will face Domingo German in his return to the starting nine.
