Salvador Perez to have MRI Thursday
Royals catcher Salvador Perez will have an MRI on his injured knee Thursday, according to the Kansas City Star.
Perez missed Wednesday's game due to the issue. He complained of knee tightness Monday, but was able to play through the injury Tuesday. Despite the MRI, manager Ned Yost remains adamant that the injury is not serious.

Salvador Perez scratched with knee soreness
Royals catcher Salvador Perez has been scratched due to knee soreness, according to the Kansas City Star.
Perez complained of tightness Monday, but said he would be fine. He was able to start Tuesday's game and was slated to play Wednesday until he was scratched. Resting Perez is considered precautionary at this time.

Royals catcher Salvador Perez was in the team's starting lineup Tuesday against the Rockies.
Perez will catch and hit third. He said his knee was tight following Monday night's game, but stressed that he wasn't in pain. Perez is hitting .268/.305/.417 over 436 at-bats.

Royals catcher Salvador Perez is dealing with a tight knee, according to the Kansas City Star.
Perez said the knee was tight, but not painful. Perez said he would be available to play Tuesday in spite of the injury.

Yan Gomes rises, Nick Swisher falls in Cleveland lineup
The Indians have finally elevated sizzling catcher Yan Gomes ahead of struggling Nick Swisher in their lineup. Gomes is batting fifth Thursday night against right-hander Homer Bailey with Swisher moving down to the seventh spot.
Gomes owns a 12-game hitting streak and has three home runs and 10 RBI in his last nine games to sweeten his stat line to .286/.326/.489. He has raised his average 28 points since July 12.
Swisher has eight hits in his last 46 at-bats and is batting .209 on the season.

Yan Gomes slugs 16th home run Wednesday
Indians catcher Yan Gomes went 2 for 4 with a double and a solo home run in his team's 8-3 loss to the Reds Wednesday.
Gomes finally put his team on the board with a 410-foot shot to left field in the eighth inning, but it was too little too late for the Indians. The catcher has a 12-game hitting streak, with three home runs and 11 RBI over that stretch. Gomes owns a .286/.327/.489 line with 16 home runs and 50 RBI in 350 at-bats.

Salvador Perez homer kick-starts Royals in vicory
The Royals cranked out 15 hits Tuesday night in Arizona, but catcher Salvador Perez kicked off the rout in the third inning with a three-run homer that gave his team the lead to stay.
Perez also singled twice for his second three-hit game since July 25. He has five hits and five RBI in his last three games combined.

Yan Gomes returns to action Sunday
Indians catcher Yan Gomes went 1 for 1 with a walk in his team's 4-3, 12-inning win over the Rangers Sunday.
Gomes missed Saturday's action with a stiff neck and was not in the starting lineup Sunday, but he came on as a pinch-hitter in the ninth inning and remained in to catch all three extra innings. He drew an intentional walk in the 11th as well. Gomes has hit .283/.326/.469 with 14 home runs and 46 RBI in 339 at-bats.
