Langeliers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.

Jhonny Pereda will pick up a start behind the plate in Langeliers' stead as the Athletics close out their season-opening series with a day game. While starting the first three games of the series, Langeliers went 2-for-11 with a home run, a walk and three RBI.

Heim is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Heim and Kyle Higashioka ended up splitting time behind the plate during the season-opening series with the Red Sox, with the two backstops picking up a pair of starts apiece. While it's unclear if the timeshare arrangement will continue all season long, Heim's hold on the No. 1 catching job in Texas at least appears to be more tenuous coming off a dismal 2024 campaign in which he mustered a .603 OPS over 491 plate appearances. Heim has gotten off to a nice start through his first two games of 2025, popping a pair of solo home runs in six plate appearances.

Thaiss will start at catcher and bat fifth in Sunday's game against the Angels.

Thaiss will make his second straight start behind the plate after going 0-for-1 with two walks in his White Sox debut Saturday. Both of the lefty-hitting Thaiss's starts have come against right-handed pitchers, while the right-handed-hitting Korey Lee handled catching duties in the opener Thursday, when the Angels sent southpaw Yusei Kikuchi to the hill. As such, it's possible that White Sox manager Will Venable is running a loose platoon at catcher that could afford Thaiss the majority of the starts.

Lee is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

Lee drew the start behind the plate Opening Day while the Angels sent lefty Yusei Kikuchi to the bump, but the catcher will now hit the bench for the second game in a row. The Angels have deployed right-handed starters Saturday and Sunday, so Lee may be on the short side of a platoon at catcher with Matt Thaiss, who draws a second straight start.

D'Arnaud will start at catcher and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the White Sox.

D'Arnaud will enter the lineup for the first time this season after Logan O'Hoppe caught the Angels' first two contests. Though he posted a respectable .738 OPS over 341 plate appearances while filling in for Sean Murphy with Atlanta in 2024, d'Arnaud will likely struggle to reach that level of playing time this season. The 25-year-old O'Hoppe is viewed as both the Angels' present and future behind the dish, so d'Arnaud may be in store for just a couple starts per week when the young backstop needs a rest.

O'Hoppe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

O'Hoppe will take a seat for the series finale after going 2-for-8 with a solo home run while catching the first two games of the season. Travis d'Arnaud will check in behind the dish Sunday.

Jansen is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Jansen was tending to a rib injury late in spring training, but he was cleared ahead of Opening Day and started behind the plate in the Rays' first two games of the season, going 0-for-6 with a walk. The Rays haven't indicated that Jansen is dealing with a setback, so he'll likely just be picking up some rest Sunday while Ben Rortvedt handles catching duties.

Narvaez made his first start of the season and went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in Saturday's 4-3 loss to Texas.

Boston hitters failed to deliver the first 11 times they came to the plate with runners in scoring position before Narvaez broke the fever with an eighth-inning single. The veteran beat out Seby Zavala this spring to be the backup to Connor Wong at catcher.

Kirk is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.

Kirk will receive a breather Sunday as the Blue Jays and Orioles wrap up their season-opening series with an afternoon game. Tyler Heineman will step in behind the plate in place of Kirk, who started at catcher in each of the first three games versus Baltimore while going 2-for-11 with an RBI and a run.

Rogers went 1-for-4 with a triple and a run scored in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Dodgers.

After sitting out Friday's contest, Rogers returned to the lineup and contributed his first triple of the season. It was just the catcher's fifth career triple, as he's not known for his speed. Rogers figures to make his mark with power after hitting a total of 31 home runs over the past two years. Detroit has alternated starts behind the plate between Rogers and Dillon Dingler to begin the season.
