Tigers' Dillon Dingler: Excluded from lineup
Dingler is not in the lineup for Friday's contest against the Royals, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Since his promotion, Dingler has now started two of six games, with Jake Rogers getting the call behind the plate for the other four. The rookie catcher is 1-for-6 with a 3:1 K:BB in his first seven major-league plate appearances.

Guardians' Bo Naylor: Launches homer Thursday
Naylor went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run against Baltimore in a 10-3 win Thursday.
Naylor pushed Cleveland's lead to 10-2 in the seventh inning with a three-run blast to right field. The long ball was his second in as many contests following a 10-game stretch during which the catcher didn't log any extra-base hits. However, Naylor still hasn't recorded multiple hits in a contest since July 4, and he's batting just .180 (9-for-50) over 19 games during that span.

Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Solo homer in loss
O'Hoppe went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Rockies.
O'Hoppe jumped on a hanging sinker from Kyle Freeland in the bottom of the fifth and sent it into the stands in right-center field to tie the game at one run apiece.The backstop then added a single in the seventh before being left stranded, giving him his sixth multi-hit performance in July and the third in his last eight games. He's now batting .281 on the season with 15 homers and 44 RBI.

Red Sox's Danny Jansen: Contributes to win
Jansen started at catcher and went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Wednesday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Mariners.
Jansen delivered a game-tying run with a sixth-inning single, which eventually led to the extra frame. He's made two starts (one at DH) since being acquired from the Blue Jays and his 4-for-7 for his new team. Connor Wong remains the starter at catcher, while Jansen is expected to see steady dose of work against lefties.

Rangers' Carson Kelly: Makes Rangers debut
Kelly started at catcher and went 1-for-3 in Wednesday's 10-1 loss to the Cardinals.
Kelly made his debut for Texas after being acquired from the Tigers on Sunday. Jonah Heim remains the starter behind the dish, while Kelly offers a well-seasoned backup that's provides better offense (100 OPS+) than previous backup Andrew Knizner (12 OPS+).

Royals' Salvador Perez: Three hits, two RBI in win
Perez went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk and two RBI in Wednesday's 10-3 win over the White Sox.
Perez put the Royals ahead for good with an RBI single in the third inning, and he knocked in another run with a double in the fifth. The catcher hit .267 (24-for-90) with five home runs and 21 RBI over 23 contests in July. He's up to a .278/.336/.467 slash line, 19 home runs, 73 RBI, 43 runs scored and 17 doubles across 106 contests this year, and he's successfully bounced back from his June swoon.

Royals' Freddy Fermin: Four hits in big win
Fermin went 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Wednesday's 10-3 win over the White Sox.
Fermin launched a two-run shot off Drew Thorpe in the second inning, giving the Royals an early 3-0 lead. The 29-year-old backstop continues to see a nearly full-time role as Salvador Perez slides out from behind the plate and gets work at DH and first base as well, and over 18 games in July, Fermin is batting .345 (19-for-55) with two homers, eight runs and eight RBI.

Victor Caratini C | MIN
Astros' Victor Caratini: Playing time picking up
Caratini will start at designated hitter and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Pirates, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
The Astros have shown more of a willingness to use Yordan Alvarez in left field of late, and it's helped open up more playing time for Caratini. He's now started in three of the last four games, with the previous two starts coming at catcher while fellow backstop Yainer Diaz served as Houston's DH. In addition to providing quality defense behind the plate, Caratini has held his own with the bat this season, hitting .276 with five home runs and 19 RBI over 128 plate appearances.

Rangers' Jonah Heim: Resting up Wednesday
Heim is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.
After starting in each of the previous five contests, Heim will retreat to the bench as the Rangers close their series in St. Louis with an afternoon contest. Trade-deadline pickup Carson Kelly will draw his first start with the Rangers, filling for Heim at catcher while batting eighth.
