  • Austin Wells C | NYY

Yankees' Austin Wells: Produces team's lone run in loss

Wells went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday in a loss to the Tigers.

Wells' eighth-inning homer was merely a consolation in keeping the Yankees from being shut out, as it made the score 8-1 in favor of Detroit. Nonetheless, it was a positive sign for the alertness of Wells' bat, as he had gone 1-for-12 over his previous 16 plate appearances. Wells has an unremarkable .715 OPS on the campaign, but he's been a good source of power from the catcher position with 21 homers and 66 RBI through 113 contests.

  • Yainer Diaz C | HOU

Astros' Yainer Diaz: Delivers clutch homer

Diaz went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI on Wednesday against the Blue Jays.

Diaz came through with a clutch home run, delivering a solo home run in the ninth inning to put the Astros up for good. He has multiple hits in three of his last four starts, recording three extra-base hits, six RBI and two runs scored. Diaz now has 19 home runs on the season and will have the chance to reach 20 long balls for the second time in three big-league campaigns.

  • Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Powers A's in win

Langeliers went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Red Sox.

Langeliers opened the scoring in the first inning with a homer off Payton Tolle before leading off the bottom of the ninth with a double off Aroldis Chapman, eventually coming around to score the winning run. The 27-year-old Langeliers is up to 30 home runs for the first time in his four-year MLB career. Overall, he's slashing .266/.314/.536 with 68 RBI, 65 runs scored and six steals across 471 plate appearances this season.

  • Rays' Hunter Feduccia: Resting Wednesday

Feduccia is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

Feduccia will get a breather Wednesday after he had started behind the plate in three of the Rays' previous four contests. Nick Fortes will handle catching duties.

  • Angels' Sebastian Rivero: Receiving third straight start

Rivero will start at catcher and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Twins, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Though Travis d'Arnaud has been on the Angels' roster all season as the No. 2 catcher behind Logan O'Hoppe (concussion), Rivero will pick up his third straight start behind the plate Wednesday following his call-up from Triple-A Salt Lake after O'Hoppe was placed on the 7-day injured list. Through his first two contests with the Angels, Rivero has gone 2-for-8 with a double, a walk, two RBI and two runs.

  • Red Sox's Carlos Narvaez: Getting afternoon off

Narvaez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

After starting behind the plate in the first two games of the series in Sacramento, Narvaez will receive a breather for Wednesday's matinee. Connor Wong will draw the start at catcher, forming a battery with starting pitcher Payton Tolle.

  • Jonah Heim C | ATL

Rangers' Jonah Heim: Resting up Wednesday

Heim is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Heim will rest after he had been included in the lineup in each of the last four games, making three starts at catcher and one as a designated hitter during that stretch. Though the Rangers will likely continue to make regular room for both Heim and Kyle Higashioka in the lineup when the team faces left-handed starters, Higashioka will likely rank as the preferred option behind the plate against right-handed pitching.

  • Yainer Diaz C | HOU

Astros' Yainer Diaz: RBI in three straight games

Diaz went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI on Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

Diaz has performed well in September, collecting at least one hit in five of his eight starts while also tallying four doubles. He's hit particularly well since the start of Houston's weekend series against the Rangers, going 5-for-14 with five RBI and a run scored in his last three starts.

  • Kyle Teel C | CHW

White Sox's Kyle Teel: Power surge continues

Teel went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Rays.

Teel opened up the scoring with a first-inning solo home run, his third home run over his last six games. He's been red hot in the second half and one of the most productive players at his position, slashing .313/.391/.515 with seven homers, 23 RBI, 22 runs, two steals and a 15:30 BB:K across 151 plate appearances.

  • Rangers' Kyle Higashioka: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Higashioka is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Brewers.

Higashioka had started the last two contests, including a start at designated hitter in Monday's series opener. However, Jonah Heim will draw his second straight start at catcher Tuesday.
