The Athletics will call up Soderstrom from Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday, Chris Correa of the Turlock Journal reports.

Soderstrom has put up a .254/.303/.536 slash line with 20 home runs over 69 games with Las Vegas this season while splitting his time between catcher and first base. The top prospect is expected to see most of his action with Oakland at first base and perhaps designated hitter, though with Manny Pina aggravating his wrist issue Sunday, Soderstrom could see some action as the team's No. 2 catcher behind Shea Langeliers. He's 21 years old and his numbers in the minors this season were only decent, given the hitter-friendly environments he played in. Still, Soderstrom is a premier talent who should be rostered in most fantasy leagues, especially ones in which he's eligible at catcher.

Bemboom cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Bemboom could have elected free agency, but he's accepted the outright assignment and will remain in the Orioles organization. The 33-year-old has a career .496 OPS over parts of five major-league seasons.

Jansen went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Sunday's extra innings win over the Tigers.

Jansen was able to extend the game with a two out, two-run blast off of Alex Lange in the ninth to send the game to extras. It was his first long ball since June 24, and he's now posted eight hits over his last eight games and has four RBI in his last two. For the year, the 28-year-old is slashing just .227/.282/.464 with 11 homers, 37 RBI, 24 runs and a 13:44 BB:K over 195 plate appearances. He's picked things up as of late, however, and will look to keep it rolling when the team returns following the All-Star break.

Higashioka went 3-for-4 with a home run, one RBI and one run scored in Sunday's loss against the Cubs.

Higashioka paired up with Anthony Volpe in the sixth inning for back-to-back home runs, a stretch that resulted in opposing starter Kyle Hendricks getting pulled from the game. Though the long ball was Higashioka's fifth of the season, it was his second in his last four games, a stretch in which he's hitting 6-for-11 (.545).

Rutschman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Sunday's 15-2 win over the Twins.

Rutschman has hit safely in seven of nine games in July, going 11-for-35 (.314) to begin the month. The All-Star catcher is up to 12 homers in 86 contests overall, one long ball shy of matching his total from 113 games a year ago. He's added 39 RBI, 44 runs scored, 13 doubles and a .273/.376/.423 slash line this season while maintaining a 14.4 percent walk rate and 15.4 percent strikeout rate.

Zavala will start at catcher and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Though the White Sox recently added a third catcher (Carlos Perez) to the active roster, his addition hasn't prompted manager Pedro Grifol to make major use of Yasmani Grandal or Zavala at designated hitter. Instead, it's been Zavala who has emerged as the primary backstop, while Grandal has lost out on playing time. Zavala will be behind the dish for the sixth time in eight games Sunday and has earned the extra work by supplying a 1.117 OPS since June 28. At least until his bat cools down, Zavala looks like he'll continue to operate as Chicago's preferred catcher.

Grandal is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Grandal is on the bench for the second straight day and for the fifth time in seven games, perhaps signaling that there's been a changing of the guard atop the depth chart at catcher. Seby Zavala will pick up another turn behind the dish in place of Grandal, who has turned in an underwhelming .594 OPS since the beginning of June and has also taken a step back defensively in 2023.

Rogers is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

Rogers has started behind the plate in nine of Detroit's past 13 games, but he finds himself on the bench Sunday for a second straight contest. Eric Haase will step in to catch for Tarik Skubal.

Naylor is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Naylor will get a breather for the series and first-half finale after he caught in three of the Guardians' previous four contests. Cam Gallagher will spell him behind the dish.

Trevino is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

The 30-year-old and Kyle Higashioka have alternated starts behind the plate for the Yankees' past six games, and that trend will continue Sunday after Trevino went 0-for-3 in Saturday's contest. Trevino has struggled offensive during the first half with a .211/.255/.316 slash line in 162 plate appearances.
