  • White Sox's Yasmani Grandal: Drives in pair

Grandal went 1-for-4 with a walk and two RBI on Sunday against the Rays.

Grandal has shown very few signs of breaking out of a season-long slump, and his RBI on Sunday was his first in his last nine starts. In that span, he had collected just two hits in 33 at-bats. Overall, Grandal is hitting .163/.274/.213 across 186 plate appearances.

  • Mitch Garver DH | SEA

Rangers' Mitch Garver: Hits two-run blast

Garver went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Mariners.

Garver stretched the Rangers' lead to 5-2 in the eighth inning, though reliever Matt Bush gave it all back in the ninth. Since returning from knee soreness May 30, Garver is 7-for-28 (.250) in seven contests. The 31-year-old has a .220/.295/.424 slash line with seven long balls, 16 RBI, 15 runs scored, a stolen base and six doubles in 149 plate appearances this year.

  • Royals' Salvador Perez: Homers in back-to-back games

Perez went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, three RBI and a walk in Sunday's 7-4 loss to the Astros.

Perez seems to be pulling out of his slump, as he's posted multiple extra-base hits in each of his last two games on the heels of a 1-for-23 skid. The catcher took Framber Valdez deep in the sixth inning and added an RBI double in the eighth in Sunday's loss. Perez is now slashing .199/.240/.404 with eight homers, 22 RBI, 17 runs scored and 10 doubles through 42 contests. It's the first time his slugging percentage has been over .400 since May 15.

  • Sean Murphy C | ATL

Athletics' Sean Murphy: Out of action Sunday

Murphy is not in Sunday's lineup against the Red Sox, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Murphy is hitting .162 with one home run over his last 10 games. Christian Bethancourt will start at catcher and bat fifth.

  • Tigers' Tucker Barnhart: Heads to bench

Barnhart is not in Sunday's lineup against the Yankees.

It's not surprising to see Barnhart head to the bench given the 11:35 AM start time. Eric Haase will get the start behind the dish, hitting eighth.

  • Royals' Salvador Perez: Busts slump Saturday

Perez went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, three RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 6-0 win over the Astros.

Perez was just 1-for-23 in six games since he returned from the injured list due to a sprained left thumb. He busted a five-game hitless stretch and a nine-game homer drought in the sixth inning, and he added an RBI double to pad the Royals' lead during their four-run eighth. The catcher was back behind the dish Saturday after serving as the designated hitter Friday. Overall, he has a .190/.228/.374 slash line with seven homers, 19 RBI, 16 runs scored and nine doubles across 171 plate appearances. With MJ Melendez on the big-league roster, Perez may be able to rest his ailing thumb as the DH or with the occasional start at first base until he's feeling closer to 100 percent.

  • Jonah Heim C | ATL

Rangers' Jonah Heim: Riding pine Saturday

Heim isn't starting Saturday's game against Seattle.

Heim started in the last two games and went 3-for-8 with two doubles and two strikeouts. The 26-year-old will get a day off while Sam Huff starts behind the plate and bats fifth.

  • Guardians' Austin Hedges: Not in Saturday's lineup

Hedges isn't starting Saturday against the Orioles.

Hedges will be out of the lineup for the second time in the last three games after he went 2-for-4 in Friday's series opener. Luke Maile is starting behind the dish and batting eighth.

  • Gary Sanchez C | MIL

Twins' Gary Sanchez: Riding pine Saturday

Sanchez is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays.

Sanchez will get a day off after he went 1-for-11 with a walk and five strikeouts over the last three games. Byron Buxton will serve as the designated hitter while Mark Contreras starts in center field.

  • Danny Jansen C | TEX

Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Not in Saturday's lineup

Jansen isn't starting Saturday against the Twins.

Jansen went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Friday's loss to Minnesota, and he'll be out of the lineup for the second time in the last three games. Alejandro Kirk will start behind the dish while Cavan Biggio enters the lineup at first base.
