    Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Sitting Saturday

Sanchez is not starting Saturday in Cleveland.

  • Mitch Garver DH | SEA

Twins' Mitch Garver: Not starting Saturday

Garver is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers.

The competition for starts behind the plate in Minnesota was reduced after Willians Astudillo was optioned Saturday, but Garver will still be forced to split time with Jason Castro. Castro takes his turn Saturday.

  • Rays' Michael Perez: Moves rehab to Triple-A level

Perez (oblique) went 1-for-4 with an RBI single and a run in Triple-A Durham's win over Gwinnett on Friday.

Perez was replaced behind the dish after six innings by Dashenko Ricardo, as he'd already logged a full game's worth of at-bats due to the Bulls' offensive success. The rehabbing catcher is hitting .462 over his four minor-league games and could potentially be activated early in the coming week.

  • Danny Jansen C | TEX

Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Sits Saturday

Jansen is not in Saturday's lineup against the Diamondbacks.

Jansen is hitting .105 over his last 38 at-bats. Luke Maile is starting behind the dish and hitting ninth.

  • Royals' Martin Maldonado: Sitting Saturday

He has 10 strikeouts and four hits over his last eight games. Cam Gallagher is starting at catcher and hitting eighth.

  • Mitch Garver DH | SEA

Twins' Mitch Garver: Launches 10th homer

Garver went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Friday's 6-3 win over the Tigers.

His two-run shot off Matt Boyd in the third inning got the Minnesota offense rolling, and he chipped in an RBI single in the ninth for good measure. Garver had been scuffling since coming off the injured list, going 2-for-13 with eight strikeouts in four games, but Friday's performance boosted his slash line on the year back up to .320/.405/.701 with 10 homers and 24 RBI in only 30 contests.

  • Tom Murphy C | SF

Mariners' Tom Murphy: Homers in win

Murphy went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's 6-2 victory at Angel Stadium.

Murphy launched his shot off starter Andrew Heaney in the sixth inning to score Daniel Vogelbach and Tim Beckham. The long ball was his second in as many games since his last start June 5. The 34-year-old backup catcher has made the most of his infrequent at-bats this season. Overall, he's slashing .297/.325/.554 with five home runs, 11 RBI and eight runs scored through 24 games.

  • Omar Narvaez C | HOU

Mariners' Omar Narvaez: Takes seat Friday

Narvaez isn't starting Friday's game against the Angels, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Narvaez will head to the bench for the second time in three days. Tom Murphy is set to handle the catching duties and bat eighth in Narvaez's absence.

  • Indians' Roberto Perez: Out of lineup

Perez is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Yankees, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Perez sits after starting four straight contests. Kevin Plawecki gets the nod behind the plate.

  • Red Sox's Christian Vazquez: Heads to bench

Vazquez will sit Friday against the Rays.

Vazquez and Sandy Leon have had a very even split behind the plate recently, with Vazquez starting eight times and Leon starting nine over the last 17 games. Leon will take his turn Friday.
