Rays' Michael Perez: Out 2-to-3 weeks
The Rays placed Perez (oblique) on the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports. Perez labeled his right oblique strain as mild and hopes to return from the IL in 2-to-3 weeks.
Nick Ciuffo was called up from Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move and will serve as the No. 2 catcher behind Mike Zunino while Perez is sidelined. Perez has supplied a .755 OPS in 46 plate appearances this season while occupying the short end of a platoon behind the dish.

Mitch Garver DH | SEA
Twins' Mitch Garver: Launches seventh homer
Garver went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Blue Jays.
Garver crushed the 424-foot shot to left center in the sixth inning to provide the Twins with some much-needed insurance runs. The 28-year-old now has five three-hit games this season and is slashing .367/.424/.783 with seven home runs and 14 RBI in only 60 at-bats.

Rays' Michael Perez: Will be examined further
Updating an earlier report, Perez (oblique) is being medically evaluated and could potentially end up on the injured list according to manager Kevin Cash, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Perez was a late scratch from Tuesday's lineup due to right oblique tightness. The 26-year-old has served as the backup to Mike Zunino, seeing action in 15 games overall this season.

Rays' Michael Perez: Scratched with oblique issue
Perez was scratched from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks due to right oblique tightness, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
The severity of the injury is not yet clear. Mike Zunino gets the start behind the plate.

Danny Jansen C | TEX
Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Sitting Tuesday
Jansen isn't starting Tuesday's game against the Twins.
Jansen was in line for a day off following three straight starts behind the dish. Luke Maile will catch and bat ninth in Jansen's place.

Omar Narvaez C | HOU
Mariners' Omar Narvaez: On bench Tuesday
Narvaez will sit Tuesday against the Yankees.
Narvaez hits the bench after starting four straight contests. Tom Murphy takes over behind the plate.

James McCann C | ARI
White Sox's James McCann: Continues strong start
McCann went 1-for-4 with a walk, a solo home run and two runs scored in Monday's 9-1 win over the Indians.
McCann, who just had a 16-game on-base streak snapped Sunday, was back at it Monday, swatting his fourth homer. His .995 OPS is uncharted territory for the 29-year-old catcher whose career OPS is .669. Nothing has radically changed in McCann's batted-ball rates, so a .440 BABIP is the best explanation for the fast start.

Austin Wynns C | ATH
Orioles' Austin Wynns: Not in Monday's lineup
Wynns is on the bench Monday against Boston, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Wynns was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk eight days ago and inserted straight into the starting lineup, but he doesn't appear to be the Orioles' primary catcher. Pedro Severino has started four times to Wynns' three since Wynns returned.
